No offense, but the OTHER characters are so retarded, they CANNOT be in Brawl. Especially the real-people like characters. Naruto, CANNOT be in Brawl because HE’S in Jump Super and Ultimate Stars. The game is similar to Smash Bros., so he can’t be in the Brawl game. However, I do feel sorry about Krystal…
The first part I was like, “Yeah! man, why didn’t they put them in there. boohoo” in the middle, “yeah I guess thats possible.” At the near ending, “….What the frostedflake!?!?”
Everyone from Krystal to Ray 01 made sense. I knew this person had their hopes WAY too high when I saw Cloud–Sakurai even explicitly stated that there would be absolutely no characters from Final Fantasy games that came after 6, and no anime characters.
In fact, the entire later half of this video looks like one big freakin’ joke, and I hope no one seriously thought any of those characters would be in Brawl.

As bitter as I was about Krystal (among a couple others) not getting in there, this did help put things in perspective: No use whining over who didn’t get in the game, and start looking forward to those who -did-. After all, I may find a new “best” character, and even if I don’t, Fox is still in it, so it’s not like I’ll have to completely start the search over for who best fits my fighting style.
But I was sooo looking forward to that pen.
Oh, I see, so this is just another one of the many people saying, “Stop bitching!”, acting like if we don’t like every single character in the roster, we’re whiny children who are ignorant and hate change, telling us our requests were all “unrealistic”.
Unrealistic? More like logical.
People asked for a decently altered Ganondorf, Young Link, Falco, etc. and they didn’t get that.
People asked for MegaMan and Geno. Sakurai didn’t even ask Capcom or Square.
People asked for Krystal, who for once wouldn’t just be viewed as a furry sex object with a large suggestively-shaped gun. Nope, instead they strip her of all potential once again, like they have for the past two Star Fox games, and give her such a minor role that most people won’t even get to see her.
People asked for Ridley. I’m glad he’s at least a boss, but they should at least put in another Metroid representative. But no, they couldn’t even do that.
People asked for the Animal Crossing kid, and at one point he was semi-confirmed by the creator of Animal Crossing. Sakurai said he’s not “fighting material”, and instead puts in a toy robot.
We have every right to be pissed off about the roster.

Roster: Probably.
Game in general: It still looks quite cool, and I get the feeling that once we get our hands on it, we’ll, for the most part, forget about the disappointments we’ve had when all those leaks began coming out. Yes, the general principle of failing to represent the fans after they’ve stated that that was a goal (why else would they make a survey if that wasn’t the goal) is deplorable, but I don’t think that’ll change the fact that it’s going to be a good game. Not as good as it -could- have been, admittedly, but a good game nonetheless. Remember all the cool stuff, too: Customizable stage creation, ability to boost characters in SSE with various stickers, online gameplay, squeaky golden hammer (go silliness), and the tried-and-true Smash Bros. fighting system that got us interested in this game in the first place. There’s plenty to be thankful for, so why dwell on the negative? Yeah, I was angry for a few days, but all that’s going to do is increase blood pressure and make for a nasty day. Krystal’s been boned left and right, but then again, at least she’s had more than one game released involving her. Earthbound was quite popular when it came out on the SNES, but the most it’s had in the U.S. is small exposure in a game series that inculcates a plethora of franchises (Jeez. Reading that sentence makes me realize what a nerd I am). Not that that excuses the crap they’ve put Krystal through, but Earthbound (”Mother” in Japan) has had the shaft even more.
I was thinking about getting this game but now that the final roster is out I think I am going to pass on this game as the character selection reminds me too much of Melee. Only thing I like about this game are the extra features they put into it and online play. Maybe when this hits the $20 bargin bin in a few years I will pick this up but until then this game is not worth $50 and should of delayed it again to add in more characters that are NOT from Melee.

Oh come now. You know it’s going to be a truly great game. They just picked an odd selection of characters. What’s new about that? Is $50 too much when you “only” get online play, custom stages, more than ten new characters, and more classic game music than you can shake a stick at?
Besides, Melee STILL costs $30. It’ll be at least 10 or 15 years before Brawl gets down to the $20 range, at least for a new copy.

I’m going to wait. I still havn’t played mario galaxy yet, plus I think this game is hugely over hyped. I like smash bros, but I’m not a big fan.
Personally, I want to see what they are going to do (if they are going to do) for new starfox and F-Zero games. I also want a free radical game on wii.

Pshh, who needs Chuck Norris when you have Captain Falcon, with his Falcon Punch that can destroy a big portion of a Galaxy. Except that they didn’t put that in as his final smash. Oh well.
