I’ll be going to this year’s Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. I leave Saturday morning and will return the Saturday after that. I don’t know if I will have access to the internet during this time, so I might not be around for a while.

Anyway, I’m going to talk to all kinds of game people, pass out business cards, and learn what I can at the various seminars. I’m a Conference Associate (read paid volunteer). If you want to talk to me and happen to be at GDC, I have requested the job of Press Room Badger (guard), so unless they have something else in mind for me, that’s where I’ll be.

There’s one session in particular at GDC that should be of major interest of us Krystal fans: the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character Postmortem. If I can manage to get in (by getting there hours early), perhaps I can find out exactly why Krystal’s role in Brawl was nerfed. See you on the other side!

Oh, and the podcast will have to wait a bit again. Sorry for the erratic schedule.

Edit: Still Alive

No, I don’t have access to the internet at my hotel. Thus, I’ve been, or rather, haven’t been accessing the net via the wireless connection set up for us Conference Associates (not very private, so I couldn’t visit my own sites very much until tonight).

So, news has already come out that downloadable players are NOT in the works. See IGN’s interview, page 2.

I will be attending the Brawl talk early tomorrow morning. If I can find a way to discretely ask about why Krystal wasn’t included, I will. I’m nervous about asking, and certainly, there will be hundreds and hundreds of people there. They will likely ask more questions that I will be able to. I’ll see what I can do.

I’ve been working a lot at GDC, mostly covering the breakfast guard job. I prevent certain people from getting breakfast that shouldn’t. My final shift will be watching the Press room from 3:30 to 5 PM. I will also finish looking around the Expo and potentially talk to people about internships tomorrow afternoon. After that, I will be getting ready to go home. Talk to you later!
