Okay, so here’s my status. I’ve been playing through Subspace Emissary as fast as I can so I can have all the characters unlocked for tonight’s party. I’ll be leaving for that party in a few minutes, so I won’t be around until late tonight or tomorrow morning.
For now, I’ll say that SSE is REALLY long. I’ve been playing for over 3 hours and have only reached 46% complete on the story. I’ve been playing on Easy mode (the easiest available version) and I still have difficulty when many enemies are on screen. Characters and fighting in general have changed a good bit. Also, the stages will likely kill you more than the enemies, with the exception of Giant Evil Diddy Kong, who is insanely powerful and killed me with two hits several times before I could beat him.
I tried accessing the Star Fox Easter Eggs with some luck. As far as I can tell, on the Gamecube controller anyway, you have to be Fox and you rotate the the D-Pad in either direction (up, right, down, left, repeat). Once Fox goes down into his “angry stance” leave everything alone until you Fox moves again. After that, the Easter Egg will start as soon as the stage changes locations (aka, warping in the Lylat Cruise level).
As far as I can tell, I can’t (yet) access the audio from the Star Fox Easter Eggs via the Sound Test mode.
Krystal’s voice in nice. :) Peppy sounds like he’s probably being done by the voice actor doing Wolf. Slippy’s good. Falco… they made him say some silly things. :D
Still no sign of the Krystal trophy, but after tonight’s matches, I’ll have lots of spare coinage to get trophies with.

As far as Fox goes, he has the same voice actor as Assault. (Jim Walker) Wikipedia is being stupid and won’t give me actors for Falco or the rest of ‘em.
