Sorry guys, the problems keep piling on. I have a cold and my schoolwork keeps getting further and further behind despite my best efforts. There’s just too much going on, and all at exactly the wrong time too, because Brawl came out, which means I need to do the Alésia Glidewell interview. Two other VERY significant Krystal-related things happened that I just don’t have time to post about. I’m late for the podcast (again) and even if I did it now, it wouldn’t be up to my standards because of my cold.
And so, with great sorrow I must go into a focus mode, essentially removing myself from the internet except for time-critical tasks in order to catch up with school work. I don’t know how long this will last, but I have hope that it can be over within two weeks. Please forgive me. You’ll have a good deal to interest you while I’m away, namely Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
During this time, I won’t be going to forums, checking my RSS feeds, or doing art stuff (also late, sorry again). I will keep an eye on my email, but I probably won’t respond immediately to questions.
Consider this a short vacation guys. I’ll be back in tip-top shape as soon as possible.
PS - Foxbird22 has likely had more work to do than me for the past few months, so he’s been unavailable to help with the site. When I get back, if anyone’s interested, I’d like to get some help running the site.

Meh… Atleast he doesn’t refer to himself in thrid person, anymore. In my opinion, Krystal is in good terms with Panther, so… Judging by the way she interacted with them… Dang it!

Yeah… Sorry I scared people, but, Command wasn’t severly messed up Krystal for fun. Nintendo probably wanted to experiment with her to see where the fans would want her, because, the only reason she’s in Star Fox, is because Nintendo needed games for GameCube, and Dinosaur Planet was nearly finished, and one of the characters, Sabre, looked exactly like Fox.
Woops, what I meant by “In Star Fox” is in the series, not the team. She was put on the team after Adventures because of how many fans she had.
Well, if they’re making decisions based on fan reactions, they’ll definitely be putting Krystal back on the SF team. Either way the Fox+Krystal fans win. XD
Anyway, back to talking about Brawl…
Who else thought they kinda overdid Falco’s accent? Seriously, he sounds less like Danny Zuko and more like Joey Wheeler.

As for the others… Peppy just sounded awful, Wolf’s actor seems really inconsistant with the accent {going from mock-Texan to Southern-ish to the one he had in Assault}, Leon sounds like Alfred Ashford, and Krystal…I’m sorry, but Alesia Glidewell really got kinda lazy with Krystal–the voice is a bit too low or quiet at times, and you can barely detect her accent.
AJ: Falco is actually voiced by the guy who does Joey, so that might explain that little fact!

Sounds like some of the actors were the same for Assault. (Fox, Krystal, and Slippy anyway) I see what you mean about being inconsistant. Not only Krystal, but all of them were lazy. They accents changed a bit different in every easter egg. I think Krystal sounds her best in one of Wolf’s easter eggs, the one with Panther flirting a lot. Again, I’m going to stress how she reacts with his flirting, especailly with Wolf’s easter eggs. Just the difference between her responses from Assault to Brawl. It’s not like she ever hated him either, in Assault she would just flat out reject him. (IE: You wanna ride on my wing, Krystal? … Only if I’m covering Fox)
It’s hard to speculate where she is going to end up in the next game. I know that the endings of Command aren’t canon, but atleast the begining is, and that means Krystal is a little upset from being pushed off the team. But her trophy says: “After getting romantically involved with Fox, their relation gets a little rocky in Command”. Techincally, they are still together based on the wording. But… There were no flirts being shot towards Fox, in Brawl.
BTW, for Peppy, it sounds like Nintendo was being cheap and used the same actor twice. (Wolf’s)

It has, however, been stated by Nintendo that Panther is nothing but a sleazy womanizer, and it’s obvious that he’s definitely not capable of holding a serious relationship. It’s also obvious from Krystal’s icy dialogue towards Panther in Command that she doesn’t love him {their only moment of real interaction resulted in Krystal’s icy “Shut up, Panther.”}. Also, in Brawl, she’s obviously got a lightly sarcastic tone to her comebacks. Plus, she’s still considered by Nintendo to be part of the SF team. You also said yourself that most of their Krystal-related decisions are made based on what Krystal’s fans want {excluding Brawl, of course…}. It’s not hard at all to figure out that she’ll be back with Fox by some point in the next game.
Let’s also consider the fact that on the Dojo, Nintendo practically advertised the fact that Krystal still dislikes Panther, by showcasing a snapshot someone made by setting up the Panther and Krystal trophies to make it look like she was once again rejecting his creepy advances. XD

Another thing I realized that should be kept in mind… I know Command’s endings weren’t canon, but the fact that there were THREE “Krystal rejoins SF for good” endings, and only ONE “Krystal decides to be a b*tch and run back to Star Wolf” ending… That right there tells you which side Nintendo’s leaning towards.
You know we appreciate all the work you do on this website Mr. Krystal, and we all need to take a break at some point and focus on our priorities. School is very important and while it’s tempting to put it aside in favor of doing other (more fun) things school IS more important in the long run and myself and others at the KLA wish you the best and hope to see you return soon.

The whole concept of Command just confuses me. Why bother screwing up all the relations of Star Fox? There is atleast one ending where each of the members of Star Fox characters is just getting screwed over, besides Slippy, unless you consider marriage a punishment. XD
I don’t really see why Command was even made, is there a message we are suppose to get? It’s something about Krystal, because 6 of the endings involve her, and something she and Fox or Star Wolf does. (Correct my math if it’s wrong)
By the way, isn’t Fox gonna start getting a little old for this? 18 in SF64… 26 in Adventures, 27/28 in Assault, atleast 32+ in Command.
Correct–six of the endings involve Krystal and one or more of her numerous experimental personalities.
3 have her going back to Star Fox for good. In one, it’s made obvious that she and Fox are back together, and as we all know, in another they marry.
1 has her rejoining SF but apparently going insane and rejoining Star Wolf months later.
1 has her stay with SW for awhile, but then she leaves anyway. She’s viewed as some sort of traitor or a coward by everyone she meets, and ends up going emo and becoming a lone bounty hunter.

Well, as high as the chances are of them getting abck together, I’ll admit the chances of them actually ending up married are slim. Nintendo has some phobia of having their couples actually get married {an excellent example of this is Mario and Peach–Mario’s been saving Peach’s butt since 1985, and all he’s ever gotten is cake and a kiss on the nose or the cheek}.

Yes, the Krystal + Fox vs. Krystal + Panther arguments are back. Please be respectful to each other and try not to let yourselves get out of hand.
You could do what I do: hold onto your own opinion, but not push it until it’s confirmed by Nintendo directly (a fully canon story placing one pair as official).
With all due respect, Mr. Krystal, it’s hard to be respectful to some fangirl who tries to pass off her own negative opinions about Fox as fact, insists Panther is relationship material and that Krystal is madly in love with him without giving any real proof of it, dismissively and childishly waves away all evidence against what she believes, and thinks she can talk down to a 21-year-old man.
I at least give real evidence, most of which comes straight from Nintendo, and don’t try to make the characters something they’re not.
AJ: Hard, maybe, but not impossible to be respectful. Just let her hold her opinions, and you can think to yourself, “Ha. I’m surprised no one has mentioned that Falco seems to have feelings for Krystal. From what I’ve seen, he’s the only one who talks back to Panther after he flirts with Krystal, whereas Fox just does…well, nothing.

Actually, Star Fox games follow the scheme that I like to call “animal world”. There are other examples of this in fiction. Every person in the series is a type of animal, but all are anthropomorphic. Each person’s “specie” actually refers to their specific traits, for example: frog is relatively week but good with electronics, fox is heroic, bird is a loner but excellent at flying, etc. In this scenario, the different species are actually more like “races”. There’s nothing that would prevent them from marrying and interbreeding, it’s just that (as in real life), people tend to gravitate more towards people of the same race as themselves.
Don’t forget Katt and Falco were once dating, and they are mortal enemies.
And don’t forget that one thing that sparked a debate: the possible relationship between Krystal (a fox) and Panther (his namesake). It happens, bizarre as it is.

Well… In my opinion, it might get messy because some Frenchie would bite Slippy’s leg off. XD
But, using the theory of evolution, humans and monkeys shared a common ancestor. The main “physical” difference between humans and Andross, Andrew, and the Ruffians (Star Wolf minions, from Assault) is the lack of hair all over the body. So, if I walked into the Great Fox, sat in Fox’s chair and looked at him, I think he would just give me a funny stare.

As far as I know, anyone can post a picture. You just have to use HTML and have the link to the picture (just be sure that your image width is no wider than around 500 pixels, since the site can resize.
The code you need is as follows:
<img src="url" alt="description" height="height" class="centerImage" />url = the url of the image, which you’ll have to upload somewhere
description = the brief description of the image
height = the numerical height in pixels of your image (the HTML of this page doesn’t really need to know the width, only the height)
That last part, class “centerImage” centers the image. If you want to left-align your image instead, remove the class=”centerImage” part, and put the following code below the image tag:

I prefer 1v1 myself, 4 people in different parts of the country tend it make it lag.
