Krystal's Last Name
It’s been a long time since we learned something new about Krystal!
Starfox-Online user Hope(N Forever) recently posted that Krystal’s last name, in France at least, is officially “Buranetto”.

Well, heck. Make that canonical, and it’ll be the first step toward actually giving Krystal a real history instead of the vague “she’s a sole survivor” thing we have now. After all, last names are family names, which entail history and family trees.

I wonder if that’s true or not is it some french version of fox or vixen?
Fox, Falco, Leon, Panther, Katt, Pigma, and Wolf have their names based off of animals
While others have their last name based off of animals like Toad and Hare
Though this doesn’t go for every character it helps to figure out a suitable name
Although Krystal Buranetto sounds great Krystal McCloud sounds better in my opinion
So Nitendo has officially released Krystals last name and its French is that it?
I think the french word for Fox is something like Reinard. I don’t speak french but I think that is the word for it and I find it interesting they now have given her a last name.

No, the French versions of the Star Fox series has given her a last name. Though there’s still the chance that this may just be a hoax.
Since when did anyone come with a last name for Krystal?
I have to doubt that it’s canonical, how do we know that someone in America couldn’t come up with a name, get a few people to agree with it, and tell someone in France that it’s the American last name for Krystal?
It’s not like the French Wikipedia is any better fact-checked than America’s either, I once read for a week on Wikipedia that Megadeth was also known as the “P***y band”, just think how long a legitimate sounding name would last.
Not a bad last name, but I don’t think she really needs/should have a last name.

I agree with you on Wikipedia I was on a feud with some guy adding information about Krystal

I think it could be real. Like in America, a persons name would be John Doe and the person in the Middle East could be named Obama Hussein. and that would make him seem Alien. Krystals Alien so whatever wierd name she has wouldn’t be related like “Fox Mcloud” or “Peppy Hair”. Agreeing with KrystalMcloud up there.

This is from the second link Mr. Krystal posted. Maybe it’s just semantics, but the way this is worded, it sounds like she escaped from Scales, then went to Sauria. The way I remember, Scales was already -on- Sauria.
Perhaps I’m just fudging words or something, but I’m not positive we can trust this link either, since it’s essentially a gamer’s forum. That being said, I, frankly, hope we can and that she -does- have a canonical last name, even if it changes in the U.S.

But when you say Krystal it sounds classy and mystical which suits her no doubt

I’m afraid I still have to call BS, Buranetto is apparently NOT a french word, and it isn’t used anywhere except in her name on only a few websites in just one country.
There’s no evidence pointing to this being Nintendo’s official last name for her, and considering the sheer number of fanboys in the world, there’s not really any reason to believe it isn’t a fan name.
Give me legitimate proof from a real source and I’ll be intrigued, maybe even accept it right out of the gate.
I don’t have a problem with the name, though I think it’s better without her having a name, since she seems to be from a civilization that wouldn’t put much value in something like that, but if I wanted to, I could put up the “fact” that Krystal loves strawberries on Wikipedia and google that in a year, only to find 30-40 websites where people have quoted that “fact”.

With all due respect, no you wouldn’t. Wikipedia is self regulating, and I have seen lots of information on Krystal removed, as well as endlessly debated on Wikipedia. In fact, Wikipedia tends to have less information than available, rather than more.
And remember, this is ONLY official in France. No-where else.

By your sources, this is some random thing that’s been circulated in France, but isn’t backed up by any reputable source.
Look, the bottom line is that even if the people on Mar’s and the rest of the world thoght it was this last name it wouldnt be conclusive until the maker himself gives it. Just like the name Coca-cola. You can call it whatever you want, pop, soda, coke for short, it’s still Coca-cola.
You start to question “Will Nintendo bother to reveal such information about Krystal?”
We don’t know what will happen to her in the next game but will we get to know or not..?
I’ve heard about new Nintendo items being released on Animal Crossing City Folk
And not to my surprise it sounds like none of the new items are Star Fox related
Just Mario, Zelda, and Metroid items yet oddly no Pokemon items
Like I said before Nintendo never seems to focus much of its time on Star Fox
Just mainly Mario who gets a song in Wii Music and even Zelda just not Star Fox
Also notice that there are 8 playable Mario characters in Brawl while less for other groups
I love Nintendo to death but I just wish Nintendo would give Star Fox a little more credit

i totally agree with yu, nintendo only seem to jus barely be bringing out new star fox games and dedicate any attention to star fox in general, and it really ticks me off!! star fox is a great series and idea and could really go more places with future games so i think they should jus stop avoiding it and really do something with it before people jus giv up on this great game series (i wont tho, i will put up a fight if anything lol!! )

Rare shouldn’t have the right to choose Krystal’s last name unless it involves Adventures

Sure with Krystal being Fox’s love interest caused problems for Fara fans
The video games is the big source which is why they are the canon story line for Star Fox
But as for Fox’s mother she is a character I would love to see what she looked and acted like
Since Star Fox goes with actual time line a good idea is to make a past game featuring her

Are there really enough of them for it to be a problem? She’s a rather obscure character, so I can’t imagine her following would be that formidable an anti-Krystal force.
I doubt Fara could cause a anti-Krystal force but we all still have Panther to deal with

Just remember that this is the -Krystal- Archive, not the “Krystal + Fox” Archive. Everyone has a right to an opinion. Naturally, that goes toward Ayama-Chan’s comments as well, and she shouldn’t bash people who think Krystal and Fox should get together (for the record: I want her to stay single and simply good friends with Fox. Call me weird if you want), but remember that Ayama-Chan and others have just as much right to want Krystal and Panther to get together as you have for Fox and Krystal to get together.
Also, PantherHater used, what is called in rhetoric, a “red herring,” where s/he set out an emotionally-charged issue to distract people from the main one, which is dislike of Marcus. It went like this: “Everyone loves babies, and if you say you hate Marcus, then you hate babies, you sick baby-hater!” Of course, the reality is that people might have other reasons for disliking Marcus, and there are two pictures of him: one as a child, and one as the leader of the new StarFox team, where he’s an adult. I still dislike Marcus for various reasons, but that doesn’t make me a baby-hater. Instead, I just dislike his character design and what the implication of a son of Fox McCloud and Krystal could mean, which is the dramatic deaths of either or both of the two parents. Think about most fantasy/adventure/sci-fi: How often do parents of heroes survive? Answer: Not often. Harry Potter’s parents are dead. Fox’s parents are dead (maybe not his dad…that’s still ambiguous). Frodo’s parents are dead. Bruce Wayne’s parents are dead. Peter Parker’s parents are dead (I might be wrong about this one, but why is he living with his aunt and uncle?). I think you get the idea. It’s a very common theme, and putting Marcus in charge of StarFox makes Fox and Krystal irrelevant at least and expendable at worst.
