Did You Know… Krystal’s Tattoos Change

You heard me correctly. Krystal’s tattoos change. Not in real-time, but if you carefully compare her tattoos when she’s in the game (Star Fox Adventures) to her tattoos in the official renders, you can clearly see that the “L” shape between the sets of two brackets on her arms doesn’t exist in the actual game, only in the renders. In-game, there is a straight line there instead. Since most artists appear to use the official renders as references, the L variation is quite a bit more popular in fanart.

Did You Know… There’s A Real-Life Krystal Fox

Of course, there’s no real Krystal in the form of a blue vixen from space, but there is someone remarkably similar. Krystal Fox, a young girl who was born on Earth Day won the Make A Difference Award from the Shreveport Times in 2006. She was quoted saying, “It’s always been a running joke in my family — ‘Krystal’s going to save the world.’” She is also around the same age as Krystal of the Star Fox games. Source

Did You Know… Krystal Almost Never Existed

Krystal was completely cut from Star Fox Adventures during the transition from Dinosaur Planet. However, at the last minute, Nintendo insisted she be put back in. Many of the employees at Rare were happy to have her back. Source

Did You Know… Krystal Was Supposed To Kiss Fox

Originally, Krystal was supposed to be released prior to the final boss fight in Star Fox Adventures. Krystal was supposed to hang out with Fox for at least a little while, before asking him for a kiss. Evidence comes from unused audio clips found in Star Fox Adventures’ source code and an interview with a Rare employee (still working on getting a better image of it).
