Greetings and Happy New Year my fellow Krystal fans! I hope you all had a great Christmas and holiday season. Mine was hectic to say the least, packed with family activities. In the next few days, I’ll be getting back to my apartment and I’ll have some time to do some updates.

Good news! I got a new, professional quality microphone for Christmas. My podcasts should be super clear and clean from now on. Can’t wait to try it on the next podcast.

One more thing, Kab_49 at the Krystal Lovers Association has managed to get Estelle Ellis to do an interview (something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time). They are taking questions, so be sure to get over there and post them!

Original Assault Krystal Character Sheet

This popped up on the internet last week. Thanks to all who sent this in. One of the artists for Namco, Hidetomo Komaki, posted a bunch of character sheets for Star Fox Assault on his blog, including one of Krystal. Didn’t spell Krystal right, but from what I understand, Krystal is called Crystal in Japan anyway, so maybe not.

inky84 sent me an image a few months back of his progress toward making a Star Fox 64-style Krystal. He’s continuing to work on it, and eventually might make a Dinosaur Planet Krystal.

Practical HD versions of the first few cutscenes of Star Fox Adventures are now available in several bitrates and sizes. GammaRay256 was able to encode these amazingly high quality videos of Krystal goodness. You can download them yourself too. Explanations and advice for viewing are available here. It may be some time before these can be given sound and nice fades and such, but now at least we know it’s possible. YouTube apparently can’t handle the quality of video used, but even with the terrible compression it puts on videos, they STILL look better than my efforts from a few years past. Watch one of the cutscenes on YouTube.

The below screenshots are heavily cropped, and the full video is larger and shows more than what I can show here. It’s really amazing to see, better than what you can see on a normal television. You can actually see the fur effects in low light. Check it out.

HD Adventures Screenshots

About a month ago, it became apparent that the Dolphin Gamecube and Wii emulator was now able to play Star Fox Adventures without crashing or having visual glitches. Now, several people are taking advantage of this and are getting high resolution screenshots. I’ve been talking with a couple to get per-frame screenshots for the cutscenes so we can finally achieve one of my dreams when I started the KA: HD Krystal. For now, I’ve added four examples of Krystal in HD to the Adventures Screenshots page.

Some Assault Voice Clips Without SFX

Krystal Brawl Texture Hack

The inevitable has finally happened! Those crazy dedicated Brawl texture hackers have created a Krystal texture. It was done by ZeonDude, who says he will be working on the modifying the vertices of the Fox model over which the Krystal texture is made to make the body shape itself look like Krystal. Thanks to gamer18 for the info.

Krystal #10 in "Babes Who Are Out Of Your League"

Wow, this is old news, but I JUST heard about it. Krystal was ranked #10 in the “Top Ten Babes Who Are Out Of Your League” by GT Countdown. Unlike the list back in September, GT Countdown actually has their facts correct in this one.
