New Trip

Hey guys. Personal message here. The job hunt is a tough challenge, and I must now do a strategic retreat to my home state of Louisiana before I get a job. There looks to be a good chance of a great job in New York City, but I won’t find out for sure for about a week. I am leaving Washington state tomorrow morning and will be on the road for three days, as I did a few years ago when I first came here. Needless to say, I don’t plan on making any updates for a few days.

Added five new fanfictions, updated a few missing fics to their new locations, and standardized the warnings. Thanks to everyone who did fanfiction reviews for me. I’m still waiting for a couple more reviews before I’ll be completely caught up in posting fanfics.

ModNation Racers Krystal Mod

HighZenith created a Krystal mod for a PS3 game called ModNation Racers. The mod features a Krystal avatar and a custom racecar called “Cloudrunner” with a license plate that says “RDY4TAKOFF.” The mod can be found by searching for HighZenith’s name in the creation station. inky84 sent me an image a few months back of his progress toward making a Star Fox 64-style Krystal. He’s continuing to work on it, and eventually might make a Dinosaur Planet Krystal.

Krazoa = Dryad

An interesting coincidence, or perhaps inspiration: The symbol used in the Krazoa Palace in several places in reference to the Krazoa is like a compressed version of the symbol for Dryads, tree nymphs from Greek mythology. KitKaramak found this symbol in a book about Merlin called “Wizardology.” The symbol and it’s Star Fox Adventures comparisons are shown below. The symbol occurs in more places than I show here.

Krystal HD is Here

Practical HD versions of the first few cutscenes of Star Fox Adventures are now available in several bitrates and sizes. GammaRay256 was able to encode these amazingly high quality videos of Krystal goodness. You can download them yourself too. Explanations and advice for viewing are available here. It may be some time before these can be given sound and nice fades and such, but now at least we know it’s possible. YouTube apparently can’t handle the quality of video used, but even with the terrible compression it puts on videos, they STILL look better than my efforts from a few years past. The below screenshots are heavily cropped, and the full video is larger and shows more than what I can show here. It’s really amazing to see, better than what you can see on a normal television. You can actually see the fur effects in low light. Check it out.
