More Smash Characters To Come
As of last night (with the announcement of Pac-Man), there are a total of 33 characters in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. I'm watching the Treehouse live stream right now, and some of the guys who work on and test the game just mentioned that they "actually prefer playing as a few characters that haven't been announced yet." More characters confirmed! Hope for Krystal yet remains!

I have a feeling that the remaining characters who haven’t been announced yet will all be Smash veterans like Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Meta Knight, Ness, Ice Climbers, and Falco. If I remember correctly, in 2008 when Smash Bros. Brawl came out, they announced all the new characters prior to the game being released, and all the characters that were not announced prior to the release turned out to be returning vets.
Wolf was rumored to be a playable fighter and Krystal an assist trophy close to the release date of Brawl, we finally got confirmation after Japan got its hands on the game with the statement of Wolf being correct and incorrect about Krystal. Only four new characters were kept in the dark before Brawl released. I’m really hoping Nintendo saves a few characters to be unlocked that are brand new and not revealed early to leave us with no new surprises like they did with Snake and Sonic.
I really want to see Krystal in this game. I’ll be furious if I find out they left her out for characters like Pacman and the Wii Fit Trainer.
Well there is still a shot at it, I know that I am slightly curious on how she will be Implemented into the game, it could really say a lot for there Series.
Sadly if I heard correctly from GameXplain about their discussion of the roundtable where they got confirmation about Pacman and tweeted about him before Sakurai updated the site, characters have once again all been decided on since beginning of development just like with Brawl back in 2005. It makes me worried that petitions for Krystal might have not all made it to Sakurai in time. With nothing new for Star Fox yet in this game is most likely being saved for an update and change to moveset(s) of Falco and possibly Wolf or Krystal being introduced due to being the logical next Star Fox fighter choice. I always hear backlash towards Krystal to be added because Star Fox is too overrepresented, which is a mindless attack. Star Fox has had three fighters, four stages, one item, and one assist trophy in the past three games. Overrepresented? Yeah right… I want Falco and Wolf back and given more of a unique moveset compared to being closely or loosely based on Fox and of course I want Krystal to be a present fighter alongside the boys.
Here’s prediction. Krystal’s not going to be in the game. My big reason is that while she remains a prominent figure in the furry community, the rest of the gaming industry is barely aware of her existence. Lara Croft has a better chance than Krystal and even that’s a long shot.
So far I’m seriously underwhelmed by the new assortment of fighters. The Wii Fit Trainer, Villager and Mii Fighter are utterly bereft of personality, and others like Greninja and Palutena aren’t important enough to make the cut. If Krystal is included, she would be a breath of fresh air in a list of stinkers.
So far, there are 33 confirmed characters, and 14 characters who were in previous Smash games that are unannounced. Most of those characters will probably be coming back, with the exception of maybe 2 of them. That doesn’t leave room for any more new characters, unless the total character count for the game ends up being 50…but that doesn’t seem likely at all. Melee had 25 characters, Brawl had 35 characters, so 45 characters seems like a realistic number for Smash 4.
Now that Miyamoto has announced Starfox Wii U with a good chance that Sakurai already knows about it that Miyamoto has been working on it, the chances of Krystal to be playable is more likely. Even as of now after 6 years later after Brawl, she is still one of the most requested female characters to be playable since Brawl and I remember one time that during development of Brawl, Sakurai was impressed that that Krystal was in the list there. Hopefully because of these turn of events of what’s been going on of the 3DS version being delayed til October 3 and of Miyamoto announcing Starfox Wii U, Sakurai could finally consider putting her in and have her be a unique character that has her using her staff from Adventures. In fact, here are the veterans that I believe has a good chance of coming back as follows:
-Falco
-Wolf
-Ganondorf
-Captain Falcon
-Jigglypuff
-Wario
-Meta Knight
-Ness
Characters that may not come back:
-ROB
-Snake
-Lucas
With 41 here, that would leave 4 which could rule out a possibility of being newcomers and here’s the ones that I think they have a good chance to make it in:
-Krystal
-Shulk
-Ghirahim
-Chrom
The 3DS version of the game being delayed and the announcement of a new Star Fox on Wii U have no impact at all on whether Krystal makes the roster or not. Sakurai made his decision on what characters were going to be in the game a long time ago, back when the game first went into development.
Chrom and Shulk will most likely be in the game. They are both characters that were predicted in the Gematsu leak, which accurately predicted Mega Man, Wii Fitness Trainer, Villager, Little Mac, Pac Man, Mii fighters, and Palutena. So it seems the leak is legitimate, and the three remaining characters from the leak that haven’t been announced yet are Chrom, Shulk, and Chorus Men. One interesting thing to note…the leak also said there would be new characters that are DLC in the future. So even if Krystal doesn’t make the roster, she could possibly be downloadable in the near future.
Probably the next Star Fox character to be revealed is going to be Falco, with a reveal perhaps of a new stage and maybe other Star Fox related objects. Maybe a few days before the release of Super Smash Bros. for the 3ds Krystal will be revealed.
it wouldn’t be hard for them to program Krystal as a DLC unique character into the game. for them not to do it either means they will make a final SSB game with her in it or they are just lazy now.
Personally I’m a bit POed about Sakurai’s decisions, i don’t even like little mac and Pac man is like What the F. Krystal is my first female Idle that I could ever really show respect towards a personal Waifu that would bring me peace every time i thought of her. Knowing Sakurai I would say that he’s doing these odd casting, although not all are bad like the new pokemon character, but that he is deliberately trying to anger a certain fan base.
I’ve made some protest images about Krystal not being in the game of course I don’t know the process in which things get pictures posted in here but I’ll first post them on DeviantArt.com as soon as possible.

Don’t get upset. I can guarantee you that Mr. Sakurai is doing everything in his power to make the best game he can. If that means putting Krystal in, he will. If it means holding her off to include with DLC, he will. If it means not including her ever, though as this is to accept, it’s probably the best choice. He knows better than all of us what makes a good Smash game, he’s made 3 of them already.
Thanks Mr. K, The super smash series isn’t the true path for Krystal. But she needs work, and that’s what I’m worried about.
@SGT-Vixen
We’ll all be standing by Krystal’s side no matter what, am I right!
