Star Fox Wii U Will Beat Zelda Wii U Launch
During last night's Game Awards 2014, there was a special segment where Mr. Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma showed off a lot of gameplay footage from the massive open world of The Legend of Zelda Wii U. You should watch the whole thing, because it's amazing!
During their conversation, however, Mr. Aonuma asked Mr. Miyamoto how Star Fox Wii U was coming along. Mr. Miyamoto replied that Star Fox development was coming along well. He said that the game's use of the Wii U gamepad really feels right, and that the game should launch before the new Legend of Zelda Wii U game. You can hear that part of the conversation at 3:18.
Thanks to Dogman15 and Kevin for the heads up!

it may beat Zelda wii u’s launch, but we’ll see if worth playing.
I’m really looking forward to Zelda on the Wii U. I already wanna try the WindWaker remake (that was a great game on GameCube) because I can’t wait to see how the Zelda games would take advantage of the Wii U’s touchscreen pad.
That being said, any dogfighting game on Wii U also sounds awesome… THAT would also be primo material for using the touchscreen for unique stuff. Star Fox is already revered for being a classic in the genre, but I really wanna see more Star Wars Rogue Squadron stuff (those were FANTASTIC on the GameCube, less so on the N64 – excusable for a first entry of course).
It’s kinda funny how Miyamoto sounds constantly surprised at Zelda Wii U. That’s a little disturbing when you think he’s supposed to be the father of the franchise. Also notice how Epona runs over another horse at 3:55 while neither of the men are paying attention. XD Anyway, the game environment is looking fantastic at this point, pretty much like Shadow of the Colossus. I can’t wait for the baby to come out!
Oh yeah, Star Fox…
@Rareware#1Fan: I’m sure it will be worth playing.
As much as I am excited to finally get a Star Fox, I am worried about this one. One year development? Episodic? (this isn’t Walking Dead here…), non story driven? (i like well thought of stories in games, so this worries me in particular), and of course elements from Project Robot and Guard… wut? Star Fox is on-rail shooter, not tower defense and robot balancing lol.
Regardless I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
@ Kevin
same here, I worked out as much as I could on my end on what the story its self would take direction in and there’s quite a few, some more promising than others and such. I really do have high hopes because it has so much potential than just a rail shooter any elements I think would be nice if they added some sorta like assault.
That’s good. Let’s hope this is a sequel with plot that takes place after Star Fox Command. We don’t want a remake of any of the past Star Fox games like Star Fox 64, Adventures, and Assault. We’ve been waiting for something like this for almost a decade.
