Starlink and Wolf Shown Off in Nintendo Direct
In today's Nintendo Direct, we got to see some cool footage and more voice acting from Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Nintendo is really hyping up the Star Fox aspect of this game, which sees the characters integrated throughout the story. Overall, it looks great. Plus, we finally get to see Wolf, who looks a lot like his Super Smash Bros Ultimate form.
Some of you have expressed concern that this isn't a REAL Star Fox game. Is it true? Is this a fake game with fake characters?
Yes. You see, when Fox issues an order, "Star Fox! Form up on me!", Falco replies, "Falco here! I got you covered." Not even a HINT of sarcasm. Pretty sure Falco's been replaced with someone else. :P

They said nothing about Krystal but keep fighting for her like we’re always doing and we still might get her in the roster for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. With Krystal being playable in Super Smash Flash 2 when it was in Smash Con should help and I watched the video when Krystal fans cheered when they started playing it. Nintendo has to at least give her credit for being the most requested female character for Brawl and the most voted female character on the Smash Bros Ballet in 2015.
Mr Krystal when I commented on in the last post, I didn’t mean to complain, I was expressing my feelings about Krystal and I feel worried sometimes. I know Sakurai is doing a good job but it’s Nintendo that mostly calls the shots. It’s impressive that they’ve added the two most requested characters, Ridley and King K Rool. I have to say it is a plus that Krystal is in the gameplay somehow and it’s better than nothing. What assist trophy you get when you pick one up is random and we hope she pops out when we play. What I’m saying is, most of us are still pushing to make her playable, I appreciate that you’re saying that you are fighting along side us to make her playable. When they do eventually make her playable for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, in the end, you have to admit if it wasn’t for Krystal lovers like me who fight REALLY hard, it wouldn’t happen.
Mr Krystal, don’t say it’s unlikely that Krystal will become playable because during the previous Super Smash Bros game, I found out somewhere that Shulk was an assist assist trophy at first then was made playable later on, so Krystal still has a chance to get into the roster later on if we keep doing what we’re doing. Some of us still have hopes for her to become playable.

No. Nintendo MIGHT do things in response to fans. Or they might do it in response to literally anything else. They added Solid Snake to Brawl because Hideo Kojima asked Sakurai to, not because of the fans pushing for Solid Snake to be in the game.
The only way I’ll admit that Krystal fans did anything more than letting people know that there are Krystal fans (and Nintendo already knows that), is if Nintendo says that the fan activity was a major factor.
“I found out somewhere that Shulk was an assist assist trophy at first then was made playable later on”
I can’t find any evidence that Shulk was ever an assist trophy, or considered to be one, in any Smash game. Certainly, he wasn’t announced as an assist trophy and then transitioned to playable.
You don’t understand how Smash games work. The game is coming out in December, less than 100 days from now. Nintendo has finished picking ALL the playable characters already. Probably finished months ago. There simply isn’t enough time between now and then to do any more than testing, tweaking, and prepping the physical carts for shipping.
With the Smash Bros Ultimate part being completely unsatisfying in the end with only ONE new playable characters, StarLink is pretty much the highlight of this direct for me. Still hoping for something Krystal related news of her like a DLC of being playable in Smash Bros Ultimate soon or a new SF title after the events of Assault, but I guess we still have to wait… (sigh). I hate waiting, even after 10 years for a new SF game to be a let down as a reimagining and or reboot, I hope it’s not the case because I don’t want another 10 years to wait, otherwise I’m going to be furious at Nintendo for wasting such potential Star Fox has compare to other franchises.
But let’s move on from there, seeing Wolf in StarLink is quite surprising this early before the game’s release from a month from now. Although I have to wonder 2 things, if you want to express your opinion on these thoughts to me.
1) Is it possible Wolf is the other Star Fox character that could be playable, and could have a villain side of the story? I know that there’s at least 2 more spots from what I recall sometime ago.
2) Is Wolf on his own or did the rest of Star Wolf also travel to Atlas with him as well? If so, why did they came to Atlas to begin with that got Star Fox interested in hunting them.
3) If Wolf is playable, is it possible Wolf may have his own figure and Wolfen toy for the game much like Fox and the Arwing?

I am going to have to agree with Mr. Krystal on this related for Krystal in Smash. I understand you’re upset that she is not even playable in Ultimate and that she is an Assist Trophy instead. We all know that she is one of the most requested female first party characters we would love to see playable since the days of Brawl. I am a bit peeved as well. But I will tell you one thing. I am not giving up on her and neither should all of us. Because one thing for sure is that I do not think that Smash Ultimate will be the last Smash game at all. And Sakurai did confirm in a interview not long ago that he said that he will continue making Smash games in the future as long as the demand is there. We all know that even after Ultimate there is going to be demand for a new entry into the series after this one. Anyway there is a bright side to this after all. Now that King K. Rool and Ridley have made it into Ultimate, I believe Krystal has a much better chance to be playable for the next Smash game after Ultimate for a few reasons. One is like I said, with those two out of the way for first party characters, now she would be high up there for the most requested and another reason is that she won’t have any tough competition ahead of her for the next entry. If characters like Little Mac, Dark Samus, Chrom and now Isabelle(3 of them have been Assist Trophies in the past with the exception of Chrom) can get the treatment of being playable now in Ultimate, then what is stopping Krystal to be playable for the next entry? Even if we have to wait for a few more years on it, I think she has a better chance.
As for Starlink, the more I am seeing it for Starfox content, the more excited I am. I can’t wait to play the game soon enough. We’re getting close and with Wolf finally shown, that is just the icing on the cake.
I just can’t understand people sometimes. In the past when the Smash ballot was going on. We were all worried that Nintendo was dropping Krystal from their character roster. We thought that Krystal was getting thrown out. During that time Mr. Krystal explained countless times that Nintendo would not throw away one of their character for no reason. They made Star Fox Adventures and have not denied anything about its content or its characters.
Now look at today. Krystal is getting recognized by nintendo, even having her on her website for all to see. So I think this should comfort us knowing that Nintendo hasn’t abandoned her. And that sooner or later she will be apart of Star Fox games and maybe, in the new Smash game that will be released after Ultimate. So There’s nothing to worry about. Just be content with how the things are and leave it at that.
Sorry I mean Nintendo is having Krystal on their Smash Ultimate website. You know what I mean.
I’m loving the mouth animations in Starlink.
