Star Fox Wii U Will Have Different Mechanics
In an AP interview yesterday, Mr. Miyamoto was asked about the new Star Fox game. He responded to say that the game would feature new kinds of gameplay only possible thanks to the set of two independent screens the Wii U provides.
AP: You're personally working on a new "Star Fox" game now. It feels like a long time since we've seen Fox piloting his Arwing. What's he up to now?
Miyamoto: I like to create gameplay mechanics more than I do stories. The story might not be too different from past "Star Fox" games, but the gameplay mechanics are going to feel very different because of the two-screen system of the Wii U with the GamePad and TV screen. It'll make for a very fun and unique way to play.

Now THAT’s what I’m talking about. I’m looking forward to this.
Hmm, i dont know… last time we were getting new mechanics, people werent fond of it (ground missions with fox and landmaster)… that being said I hope it is possible to play traditional controls as some people dont always have access to the tv screen as well as the gamepad…
I hope they still have mixture of both like assault did, but with better controller layout since they starting to support what m$ and sony been doing to their systems.
“The story might not be too different from past Star Fox games” woah boy I have a very bad feeling about this! This very well could be just another glorified remake of a past game then (c’mon we already got SF643D, give us something new and original already) And the last time they used a different means to control the gameplay (ie. Star Fox Command) it fell flat on its face, and I already am not to fond of using the gamepad to control the arwing in fact I hate the thing, its in the way esp when your trying to play a game and pay attention to whats on the tv all the while you have this second screen from the gamepad blaring into your retinas, sometimes i have to cover it with blanket/sheets just to get it out of the way, and when theres the option to use a pro controller i turn the gamepad OFF!
