Nintendo Direct Tomorrow
As mentioned in today's Nintendo Tweets, the delayed Nintendo Direct is coming tomorrow, September 13th at 3PM Pacific, 6PM Eastern. It's going to feature new Nintendo 3DS and Switch games. Maybe we'll even see more of the Starlink Star Fox cameos and Krystal Assist Trophy from Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
I hope you will all watch it together. I know we on the Discord channel will be.

Mr Krystal, I don’t like to say this but you’re not getting the big picture that most of us still want Krystal playable. After all these years we NEVER asked for her to be an assist trophy. I know you’re just staying positive and I’m trying to too, but it’s sometimes hard. Krystal lovers like me fight real hard for her and worried to death that they just won’t put her in the roster no matter what and if she’ll ever return in a Star Fox sequel if Nintendo ever comes up with one. Even if Nintendo doesn’t make her playable yet, we still got until December 7th, we have to keep fighting our butts off.
Welp. I guess Krystal remains a trophy. Unless there is more DLC coming which changes that. At least we’re getting a Star Fox game. And we don’t know if Krystal is confirmed for that either. Just have to wait and see.
@Jeremy Lohr
I know people want Krystal to be playable. **I** want Krystal to be playable.
What you need to understand is that wanting something and getting it are two entirely different things. I’ve made games before, I know what it’s like to work for a game company.
It’s for that reason that I give Nintendo, and a lot of other companies, a bunch of slack. I know how hard it is to make a game. I know how unappreciative fans can be over the tiniest things and how completely disconnected they can be from the realities of game development. Sakurai is making the best choices he can.
I highly doubt Nintendo will turn an Assist Trophy into a playable character in this game. It’s just not likely. Moreover, while I certainly support Krystal being playable, I do not support whining, complaining, or gnashing teeth at Nintendo about it. I’m happy that Krystal is in the game at all! We all should be appreciative of that.
As for whether Krystal will be in future Star Fox sequels, I doubt her inclusion or lack thereof in Smash Bros will have much effect at all. Remember, Nintendo has NEVER, in its entire history, unmade a character, as far as I can tell. They may put a character in the vault for a while, but they don’t destroy their own IP.
Even if Nintendo came out and announced (for some reason) that Krystal, specifically, would not ever come to any future Nintendo games (unlike every character ever in the history of Nintendo), that STILL wouldn’t mean Nintendo would never feature her in a game at a later date. After all, Nintendo is on record, under oath to Congress stating, “And let me say that for the record, I want to state that Night Trap will never appear on a Nintendo system.”
Guess what game came out on Nintendo Switch in August. Night Trap.
