New Dinosaur Planet Cutscene Data Discovered in Star Fox Adventures Code
With the leak of a playable version of Dinosaur Planet last year, there's been renewed interest in looking at the source code and data found in the various versions of it and Star Fox Adventures. In this video, Jeebs' Game Shack shows off some of the cutscenes and animations that were intended for Dinosaur Planet that can be forced to play in Star Fox Adventures' engine, using various hacks and modifications to the game's code. This includes the a previously discovered unused cutscene by BvqR zxi5 in 2019.

rare ltd. probably didn’t have time to remove dinosaur planet asset when nintendo step in and told rare ltd. to make it a star fox game and redo the 3d models to be put on the nintendo gamecube at the time.
these animation sequence and cutscene look really off and probably wasn’t plan to be in star fox adventures, but left over from dinosaur planet when rare ltd. still working it on the n64.

Yep, they weren’t intended for this engine, and yes, they were probably left in because the time it took to remove them wasn’t worth it.

yeah, it’ll be time consuming to remove dinosaur plant stuff from star fox adventures, but i think they both kind of the same game engine, just that one was made for the gamecube base off the nintendo 64 version, you know – to save time.
