I just became aware of this rumor today. It's from around January, and seems to point to something Star Fox Adventures related. With the Switch 2 Direct coming up in a couple days, I'm wondering if this is something we'll see soon.

So DarkSamusHunter is a Nintendo leaker. I'm not super familiar with his past leaks, but apparently he is sometimes accurate. At least, accurate enough to pay attention to.

With this cryptic series of tweets, he seems to be strongly hinting about Star Fox Adventures.

• "Classic Zelda-like game" - Matches Star Fox Adventures.
• "Game from another series" - Not Zelda? Matches Star Fox Adventures. Or is this a niche reference to how Star Fox Adventures came from Dinosaur Planet?
• "A NEW game [not a remake]" - People have been hoping for an HD remake of Adventures for a long time, but this indicates it will be a new game. Sequel? Prequel?
• "After Zero" - Reference to Star Fox Zero? If so, he's saying it's strange that they would release the game after having "rebooted" the series with Star Fox Zero. Of course, if you know your history, you would know that Star Fox Zero is intended to be a parallel dimension version of the events of Star Fox 64, not a remake or retcon.
• "Resuming a formula from the most unique title in the series" - Matches Star Fox Adventures.

If he isn't talking about Star Fox Adventures, I have no idea what he may be referring to. I thought maybe it could be F-Zero related, but that doesn't match the Zelda-like comment at all.

So if this is indeed a Star Fox rumor, then it seems to be pointing strongly towards a direct sequel to Star Fox Adventures. Would this be a return to Sauria before Assault? Could it be a reimagining of Star Fox Adventures the same way Star Fox Zero reimagined Star Fox 64? Or could it be a brand new Adventure on Sauria set after Assault or Command? Could there be some kind of Dinosaur Planet connection? There are a lot of possibilities here.

Nintendo's directs are always fun, even if we don't see the games we hope for. I always remain hopeful we'll see something Star Fox related. It would be good to see Star Fox, F-Zero, maybe Golden Sun, and other game series that have been on pause for a while make an appearance. Hopefully there will be a little something for everyone in the Switch 2 Direct in a couple days.
