Brace Yourselves, E3 is Coming!
Last year, Nintendo cracked the code and made an entertaining and informative E3 experience with their Digital Event and continuous Treehouse Live broadcasts. In a month, they'll be doing it again. This will be epic, like it was last year. Only this time, now that Star Fox is coming out, we can expect AT LEAST two to three HOURS of Star Fox footage (and possibly developer interviews) if they end up showing Star Fox at all. Since Nintendo already confirmed they won't be showing Zelda Wii U at E3, we can reasonably expect Star Fox and a couple other unannounced games to headline instead. Who knows, maybe the new Star Fox game will be part of the World Championships too!
A few weeks ago, I did attempt to get an E3 press pass this year, specifically to cover Star Fox. Alas, this site's popularity is just slightly too low to merit a pass according to the E3 staff. Maybe next year!
Instead, why don't we have a stream watching party? I'll set myself up to be in a chatroom with you guys while we watch the coverage all day(s). What do you say?

Excited for the Nintendo championship returning, but keep the ballot in mind…
Yeah E3 is a bit of a problem like that. I think it used to be that you could purchase a ticket regardless but now you need to be a video game developer or well known critic to be there. I really hate that. Always wanted to go there though.
Well with Zelda Wii U being delayed, this puts Starfox Wii U in a better position and won’t be pressured by Zelda this year. Also, since Miyamoto confirmed that the game will be playable at E3 this year, they have to show a lot on it considering that it is a anticipated game coming that the fans have been wanting for a long time even though we don’t have any footage on the game yet. We should expect to see that the game would have advanced further into development than from what we saw last year and more importantly who is the third-party developer who is collaborating with Miyamoto and his staff on it. Not to mention that the game could be talked about in the Treehouse event. Another thing we’ll expect from it is that since Miyamoto confirmed that the game will be compatible with Amiibos, it’s very likely that we’ll expect to see a Starfox Amiibo lineup in figurines like how they are doing with Smash, Super Mario and the upcoming Splatoon. For Smash DLC, with Starfox Wii U being revealed, we can expect for Wolf to be the next DLC character in line after Lucas which would make sense there while Krystal can be saved for later after the ballot ends in October.
As for that part time job you mentioned a few entries back that would begin after E3, are you still going to get that job or you’re not going to be able to? From what you said here of the is site being slightly low to merit a pass from the staff, I’m a bit confused.
Anyway, can’t wait for next month.
I honestly don’t think wolf is returning because fox has his move set as custom moves and a skin that makes him look like wolf. Krystal definitely sounds more viable though.
@ Dakota West
I don’t know. Look what they did to Lucas. If they can get Lucas back for the veterans, then so can Wolf and not to mention that Ness may have a custom move or two from Lucas. Did that stop them from bringing in Lucas? Not really. What’s to stop them from bringing in Wolf? With SF Wii U on the horizon, his chances are really good coming back and that he was a playable character in a Smash game. Krystal’s chances are also really good as well which they could save it for the newcomer list after the ballot finishes this October.
@ Dragonheart07
I guess only time will tell. But honestly if a starfox character does come into play, I would prefer Krystal over Wolf O’Donnell. Likely they would just make Wolf similar to Falco and Fox again and honestly I would find that to be stupid on Nintendo’s part. If they give him an actual move set, that would be cool, other wise he would just be a redundant clone of fox. Krystal, on the other hand, could have a move set involving the staff. In fact, I am honestly surprised she is not in the games since her debut in Adventures. She couldn’t have a weapon that could give her a more perfect style for smash bros.
Nintendo always have the best E3 every year. I probably watch on the official nintendo site, sorry.
@ Dakota West
I’m not saying that I don’t want Krystal in Smash 4 as DLC. I really do and I’m on the same boat with you and I already placed my vote on the official ballot on the Smash website. Besides, Krystal and King K. Rool are 2 of themost highly requested characters to be playable DLC for Smash 4 from both the Japanese and Western audiences. They have been that way since Brawl and they still are. And like I said before, with Starfox Wii U being revealed, the chances for both Wolf and Krystal to be playable DLC are really good. Anyway, my guess from what I’m seeing here is that they are bringing forth the veterans back since they don’t take that long to develop. It’s possible that even as we speak, they must be working on Wolf at the moment and could reveal him during E3 alongside with SF Wii U as a promotion. It makes perfect sense. As for Krystal(very likely chance of her being back in the new Starfox Wii U game), they can reveal her as the DLC newcomer around the same time when their newest game is approaching release (if everything goes well and doesn’t get delayed, it will be a holiday 2015 title) and use it as promotion like with Wolf. What do you think?
@Dragonheart07
LOL, the part time job for Nintendo was my April Fools joke. YES! I fooled at least one person this year! :D
@ Mr. Krystal
Wow. That was a good one. You got me there. From the way how you mentioned it, it was convincing. Lol I’ll give you credit there. That was good. Anyway, from my comments I left here, do you agree to what I said?
@Dragonheart07
I did not mean to offend you if that’s an idea you had gotten. It’s pretty clear to me you are on the same boat as I lol. I was simply saying that Wolf would probably not get worked on as much as Krystal.
@ Dakota West
Not at all. You didn’t offend me at all. Relax. Lol Like I said, since Wolf was already in Brawl, he wouldn’t take that long to develop. Krystal on the other hand, does take time to do since she would have to be built from the ground up.
Nintendo does make us happy by surprising us every year and this year will be the best because we have been waiting for soooooooo long for Star Fox for Wii U. As for SSB, Wolf is one of the bad@$$ character since Brawl and I think he deserves to make a comeback. I mean like what Dragonheart07 said, Ness has the same moveset customs as Lucas did so that mean Wolf has a chance to return as well. Krystal is my most request character to join SSB. I mean she was close so this is it. Although I would love to see Splatoon Inklings to join too. That would be cute! Plus I heard that NX is NOT the next console so we can take a huge breather there and we can join Wii U until maybe the next three years. :)
I think it’s safe to say all of us here voted for Krystal
@Dragonheart07
I never heard Miyamoto say the Star Fox game would work with amiibos or that he confirmed it playable at E3 specifically. Could you give me the source?
I think Wolf is likely to return, but they don’t reuse stuff. They’ve said multiple times that each smash game is different and they start over completely on the character development each time.
@ Mr. Krystal
Here’s your proof of Starfox Wii U compatible with the Amiibos and that the game will be playable at this year’s E3. http://www.designntrend.com/articles/50376/20150508/star-fox-for-wii-u-still-flying-steadily-towards-its-release-date.htm
Miyamoto confirmed Amiibo compatibility for SF Wii U back in December 2014. It’s all over the Internet and he confirmed that the game will be playable at E3 this last January 2015. It’s all over
(to finish the comment from the top for Mr. Krystal)
About the game playable at E3 this year, it’s all over the Internet just like the Amiibo compatibility for Starfox Wii U. Sorry for the other post.
To answer the posts question, I will try to watch a stream from here. I’m all for that stuff. Especially since Zelda is out of the picture, Star Fox has the spotlight now. Wonder if nintendo did this so the focus could just be on starfox. I mean think about it, with Zelda out of the way, all the attention is going to be on Star Fox. And there is no way they have not developed Zelda enough to show off more of it this year. Star Fox is supposed to be coming out this year so it would make sense to throw all the attention it’s way. As far as I know, Zelda has another E3 they can show it off on before it’s released. I may just be stating the obvious but it none the less is interesting.
I’d love a stream viewing party! We all fangasm together.
I’m interested to see where the story goes with StarFox, because it’s been stated by Takaya Imamura that Command is where it ends, so another game would likely take place in the middle of command. This is of course assuming that Command is in fact canon. Nintendo is well known for being surprising like that. The anticipation is killing me.
@Mr.Krystal
been a while since I been here and I happen to notice the home page description still says ” got hacked a few Months ago” not sure if you wanted to change that or are just still finding time for it.
Ah, here’s hoping they’ll deliver this year! :) Also, a stream sounds like a fun idea, that way everyone can share in the hype. ^_^
Still, I’m kinda hoping the Star Fox game isn’t just going to be a reboot with the main crew. I hope they continue the story somehow from Assault, or at least start fresh with a new cast; Krystal, Fara, Miyu, and the like, so we know what’s become of them. ^^
@ Eastern Fox
I don’t think that this game is going to be a reboot of the series. Why reboot it again when they already did it in Starfox 64 which was a reboot of the SNES game? I rather prefer that the game is a brand new entry in the series which has the cast we know and love including Krystal of course since she’s part of the main Starfox cast which I have a gut feeling she’ll be back in it.
@adam/znex
You’re right. But there’s sooo much to do to get everything back.
@Dragonheart07
I’m hoping so.
Don’t worry fellow Saurians, Krystal isn’t getting removed. If she really were to, she wouldn’t have a trophy in SSB4 and her cameo’s in lylat cruise would have been cut out. That thank Miyamoto isn’t the case. And although Krystal doesn’t making any special cameo in smash 3DS, her trophy is still in both versions of the game. Nintendo if anything is trying to preserve her for the time being. Nintendo acknowledges Krystal’s existence, and there not ashamed of it. :-)
@ earth being
That’s why I have a gut feeling she’ll be back in the new SF Wii U game. She’s already established herself in the franchise and she’s there to stay and that Nintendo officially owns her.
@ Dragonheart07
True. Even if Nintendo did remove her, it would be catastrophic. Many fans and potential profits would leave and backlash would become common. We fans created this site to keep Krystal a memorable part of Nintendo. Most fans wouldn’t even think of that. I’ve recommended this site in my smash ballot vote. Others did too. They hopefully know by now.
@ earth being
I doubt that Nintendo is going to remove her from the series for good. Not to mention that she is the only female Starfox character who has had a lot more screen time than any other female SF character in the series and she is that popular. She has appeared in the same number of games in amount like Wolf has. Like you said, think of the outrage it would cause among the fans who do like Krystal and this is not only from the Western audiences, but the Japanese audiences as well. That’s like killing off Peach from the Mario series or Zelda from the Zelda series for no reason. Why do you think that she is one of the most requested characters for DLC in Smash 4 since Brawl like King K. Rool for instance?
Krystal’s part of a community that she has a huge fanbase for female Nintendo characters like Samus, Zelda, Peach, Rosalina, Palutena, Daisy and Lucina. Besides, Miyamoto and everyone at Nintendo are aware of the fanbase around her from both the Westerners and Japanese and they know it.
I actually probably would not buy if they cut krystal out. Unless this is some sort of reboot but even then, established characters are established, it would be like ret conning Falco.
