Digital Event Video Up
In case you missed it, Nintendo has posted their Digital Event video where Star Fox Zero was initially revealed. See Miyamoto, Iwata, and Reggie as Star Fox character puppets too! Mr. Miyamoto also spends a while talking about the development of the game.

Those puppets remind me of Jim henson
Probably the most underwhelming and lackluster E3 Presentation I have ever seen in my entire life. Star Fox Zero looked cool (despite no Krystal), but that was pretty much the only thing that I got really excited for. The Muppets scene at the beginning was disturbing, to say the least. And Metroid Prime: Federation Force was just piddly. I sure hope Nintendo is able to make up for this in the future.
@Brett
You must have been born less than 2 years ago.
Mr. Krystal, you think there’s still hope for Krystal, or is she done for?
@StarDog Smasher
Of course she isn’t done for. Nintendo does not make its business by killing off beloved characters. As I said in another post, I’ve yet to find a single example of Nintendo axing a game character. Comic characters, maybe, but not game characters.
Maybe the next Star Fox game will reintroduce characters like Krystal that appeared for the first time after Star Fox 64 in the next game after Star Fox Zero. Places like Sauria may not appear SFZero.
Comp367, you got a clue when Nintendo might make the next Star Fox game will come out after the one announced today with Krystal in it? Or, let me guess. We all easily know that another game won’t be announce for a while. I hope it’s not for another 10 years.
@Mr. Krystal
I would name King K. Rool because he doesn’t appear in Retro’s DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze but it could be the case that Nintendo just doesn’t feel like reusing him. I personally think Krystal’s absence in Zero (which is technically a re-imagining of 64) considerably lowers her chances of being Smash DLC.
Not trying to be negative, but….Krystal, like….I want her in more games….
@iMACobra
We are talking about the same company that gave us Lucas. He’s from a series that hasn’t had a game for a while. Same for R.O.B. and captain falcon. Oh, and Mr.Game & Watch.Smash has trophies of BOTH king k. rool and Krystal. So they both have a chance. :)
@iMACobra
If you sincerely feel as if she won’t win the ballot, you can always go here: https://plus.google.com/114866561223783203874/posts/ZpUYhEDdRQA any video game character could get in after all :)
If Star Fox Zero sells well we may see DLC missions (Non-canon maybe? If there is even a star fox canon.) or maybe a hand held spinoff, I doubt they’d completely write off krystal.
I’m willing to wait another year or two.
Still though, I kinda like the idea of playing as the redshirts from Metroid, kinda helps put the idea that maybe Samus isn’t the only competent person in the universe.
@the_randomizer
I don’t see how that’s negative =], we all want to see her in more games. Heck, nobody bite my head off for this, but i feel Krystal would have a better chance in smash then zero. Think about it! If you don’t like star fox but you like Nintendo, then you are way more likely to play smash and pick up a interest in new characters in there. If we get lucky enough and she gets in smash, then i think she will become HUGELY more popular. Same happened with fire emblem once they reached into smash. This could give her a higher chance of appearing in new games =D. But yes i would still like her as DLC or too meet her on a dinosaur planet level 0-0 wait a sec… why cant that happen. I think we are going to meet her on her planet this game later on =]. but that’s just a theory, A LION THEORY… no… none of that.
@Mr. Krystal
I wish I was that young again, but sadly, I’m not. =(
But in all honesty, I got excited for only three Nintendo games. Compared to last year’s E3 presentation, this one felt more like a single than a grand slam. And with the Wii U being dead-last in terms of hardware sales, Nintendo really needed to up the ante this year. But in my personal opinion, they failed to do so. My hope is that they will show off some new content in the coming days with the Treehouse Live broadcasts or in a new Nintendo Direct. But as it stands right now, I’m feeling underwhelmed by Nintendo at the moment. You have a right to feel different, and you may actually BE right, but other than Star Fox, I never really got to see any major first-party titles that could hit it out of the park.
Same. Another disappoint that i hear going around is the hope for a new F-zero. Of course it didn’t happen and all i found was this game.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MytHOSttgw). Looks really fun and amazing, but why wasn’t something like this in the digital event. Might have helped make them look a little better.
I’ve been making a fuss wherever I can about the lack of Krystal. On the official youtube videos, twitter and on Miiverse communities. If you really want Krystal in the game that’s what you need to do. Even if there might be no chance of her being added we might at least get a response on her absence and for a future game or even update she would definitely be added to it. Not really doing anything is the worst thing you can do. That won’t change anything and could make it a lot worse. Need to show support now rather than waiting till when it’s too late.
Well I have been doing a bit of the same, but I don’t know if just a couple of us moaning at people about it is gonna do much (guilty myself). I really wish there was an organised way we could all try to help and contribute our support for these games and or Krystal.
I have seen others complain or at least show some sort of support for my complaint. There are others out there. I noticed some started a petition to cancel a game. As stupid as that is we could start one to get Krystal into Star fox Zero. We would need to get the petition out there though. Not sure who we would send it to. I would guess both Platinum and Nintendo…
@AngelFoxDreamer
Please do explain to me in more detail, I don not know how this works. Why would this force them to put her in. From what I have heard, We have already tried this when smash bros wii u was announced
Well, I thought the E3 convention was great. I’ve seen many of them over the years (not in person unfortunately.)and this was much better than some of the past E3 events. I actually got excited which is very rare for me. Earthbound Zero is finally released in the US (One of my favorite series. Before I even played Starfox on SNES.), and StarFox finally made it’s debut on the WiiU. Plus we got a whole load of indie games, and 2nd party games to look forward too.
If there’s still hope for Starfox, there’s still hope for Krystal. So don’t give up on her.
@Happylion18
Ideally we want her in the game but there are no certainties with any method chosen. At least until it is tried and then we would know. What I would hope for at least is a response from Nintendo about it and hopefully secure future appearances within the series. If that’s DLC that’s great if we have to wait till the next game that’s fine. With Super Smash Bros WiiU+3DS the ballet is still on so we might not know until October or even later if she is in the game or not.
So long as we are visibly wanting Krystal in the series there is hope. My biggest fear would be people view this as the end or just a minor thing that she hasn’t appeared. Not only would this be bad for the series it also decreases our chances of seeing krystal in action again. If we lose Krystal we lose the main female character. It puts other characters in danger of vanishing as well.
Guys, if it’s really true that being a reimagining of 64 means that it’ll take place around the same time as that game, Krystal would literally be 11 years old. She was born 11 years before the Lylat Wars (events of 64). Zero seems to be hinted as being another 64 because of the reused or similar lines in each gameplay demo. It’d pose a real problem for her to make a major appearance when she’s that young because she wouldn’t even be old enough to fly a plane but because this is said to be a reimagining of Star Fox 2 & 64, they might just up her age for this game.
With this supposed absence in the latest installment, it’ll also be harder getting her into Smash as DLC so a pretty high to top placing on the Fighter Ballot and great consideration from Nintendo, bringing a character missing in the newest game of her series, will be her only fighting chance.
Well, while we may not be getting Krystal in, since it is parcially star fox 2, I wouldn’t be surprised of Miyu and Fay are released as characters.
You guys know about the #asknintendo hashtag right? collective questions are supposed to be answered on Nintendo’s Treehouse so if enough people ask about krystal it might be addressed on the final stream today. There’s already a few people who have asked.
