On February 5th, 2022, the Krazoa Palace was posted to Models Resource, ripped by Models124717. This release also contains several other large Star Fox Adventures locations, including the CloudRunner Fortress, Moon Mountain Pass to Volcano Force Point Temple Path, and the Ocean Force Point Temple Surface areas. Of course, Krazoa Palace will be the most iconic one for Krystal fans, this being the only area Krystal is officially playable in the game.

Discord user NJ Fox is already modeling this out to be suitable for exploring beyond what the game originally intended (some of the walls are missing because you can never get close enough to see them). I wonder what other interesting things people can do with models like this. Stick it in Unreal Engine 5 and use world-class real-time lighting systems maybe? (hint hint!)

With the leak of a playable version of Dinosaur Planet last year, there's been renewed interest in looking at the source code and data found in the various versions of it and Star Fox Adventures. In this video, Jeebs' Game Shack shows off some of the cutscenes and animations that were intended for Dinosaur Planet that can be forced to play in Star Fox Adventures' engine, using various hacks and modifications to the game's code. This includes the a previously discovered unused cutscene by BvqR zxi5 in 2019.

Back in April of 2021, we posted that Krystal cosplayer Nyalice had passed away on November 24th, 2020. So it came as a complete surprise to everyone when new photos of the Nyalice's cosplay suits and costumes started appearing on Christmas day, 2021. This time, there were multiple people wearing the costumes at once. It was hinted that the account was being revived by Nyalice's family members, and possibly local friends, as a way of honoring Nyalice's memory. This was later confirmed in two posts. The family and friends said that Nyalice's "children", the costumes, will continue to appear from time to time, and they thanked the community for giving Nyalice many nice memories.

Warmest wishes and deepest condolences to Nyalice's family and friends. Thank you for the memories.

Once again, I must apologize for delays! Work and life have been busier than I could have imagined, so I actually FORGOT about the January 8th anniversary of the Krystal Archive being online. It's been online for 16 years as of that date. Never done that before! I didn't even get to record a podcast episode all last year. That's unacceptable. I will set aside some time to do that soon. I'm so sorry.

The good news is that things are starting to slow down a bit again, so I have time to regularly update. I posted something earlier today and I have another post ready to go for tomorrow.

In other projects, I am about to restart development on the Krystal Staff project where I attempt to create a game-accurate Krystal Staff. If successful, I plan to make them available for purchase. Be warned, though. They will be very expensive. But it'll have lights and moving parts, so that's kinda how it goes.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Star Fox Adventures' release date, and the day that Krystal came into most of our lives. That event deserves something special. But what? I'll have to think about this. What do you have in mind?

2022 is going to be a year of relearning stuff. It's been a while since I updated my skills with web development, and I have several websites that need a refresh. Not just in how they look, but stuff to make them faster, easier to use, and easier to post on social media. Fingers crossed!

Ludoxei, who has done Krystal fanart before recently opened up her commissions. It was a good price and she likes Metal Gear Solid, so I figured why not combine the two. This is the result! Love it.

A day and a half after Christmas, I finally get a spare moment to update the site! That's how hecticly busy I've been lately. Sorry about that. I will post more in the new year, I promise.

In a big release on December 4th, Models Resource has released 14 different ship models for download from Star Fox Command. This includes Krystal's Cloud Runner ship. These are all pretty low polygon, as expected for a DS game. Regardless, these have been a very long time coming. I'm surprised it has taken this long, since I know people have been trying to get these models for many years. I'm not sure if these are all the Playable Ships, or if there are few more. We also get the Great Fox 2, the ship the team was presumably lent to them after the Great Fox was destroyed in the attack on the Aparoid Homeworld. There are no ripped enemy ships, however.
