Krystal Cosplay by Hikaru Cosplay
A new Krystal cosplayer has appeared. Hikaru Cosplay made very quick work of her project, concept in February 2019 to completed costume in August 2019, just six months! She will be making her first public appearance at A Video Game Con NJ on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at her booth. That's this weekend, folks! Hopefully we'll get to see some footage and photos from that event. For the actual convention, she plans to add more makeup and some new fingernails to complete the look.
Hikaru says that Krystal was a very important character to her in her childhood, with lots of memories from playing Star Fox Adventures. Krystal was her role model in a way. She only worries that people won't recognize the character at the convention. Somehow, I don't think she'll have trouble.
The tail and ears were made by CuteTailStudio on Etsy, and the wig was made by Epic Cosplay Wigs. Hikaru made the bodysuit herself from scratch. Check out the WIP posts below.
Starlink Arwing-ception
I meant to post about this earlier, but Reddit user Tylerort93 took advantage of the Starlink ship modularity system to create an Arwing-wing-wing. Three wings per wing, or "Godwing" as he calls it. His monstrosity beautiful creation even got featured by the official Starlink Twitter.
The game actually handles this. The Starlink developers said it would, but to see it in action, it's really incredible.
Check out the original thread and the image gallery of it in-game. I think the best comment was "Truly a weapon to surpass metal gear."
Star Fox Adventures Retro Rad Review
A long and detailed review of the the events leading up to the launch of Star Fox Adventures, an overview of the pros and cons of the game, and some defense against those who claim it to be a tragedy to the Star Fox franchise. I agree with most of his points, though some of his particulars are slightly off. Apparently he didn't know how Saurian worked until after the video was posted because his game copy didn't come with an instruction booklet, for example.
Krystal Ace Pilot Animation Coming Soon
After his Krystal vs Wolf Animation in 2017, animator TheIronGauntlet is working on a new Krystal animation, and it's almost done! This one is going to be about Krystal as an Arwing pilot. He's posted a video preview of the audio from the animation as a sneak peek, which you can see above. On his Twitter, he's posted sneak peeks of Krystal and the Arwing from the animation.

In a video I made about two weeks ago, I noticed that there were two Krystals at Montréal ComicCon in July 2019. This other Krystal turned out to be Technicolor Cosplay's first appearance as Krystal in a new, custom-made Kigurumi costume.
Heavily inspired by Ayano's work, Technicolor Cosplay 3D printed the mask, created the Assault suit from scratch, and constructed the wig from other wigs. The tail was custom work too.
Technicolor Cosplay and Moonllita at the same convention.
This was Technicolor Cosplay's first time making a cosplay mask and probably some of the other costume parts. The mask is getting upgrades in the future, as is the jumpsuit. Check out the credits for the cosplay. Hope to see further improvements as time goes on.
Technicolor Cosplay's next Krystal appearance will be at Edmonton Expo (September 20-22, 2019). You can follow the progress and get tons of WIP and photoshoot photos at the official Facebook page.
Previsualization Footage for Star Fox in Starlink
Zygart uploaded some behind-the-scenes footage from the animation and motion capture experiments for Starlink, featuring multi-talented animator, actor, and artist Rundeep Khaira. I love this WIP stuff!
Here's some initial footage for Fox's character intro posted by Rundeep Khaira himself.
He seems to have done a lot of mo-cap for the game, even for the human characters. Also, check out his ArtStation gallery, where he posted tons of renders!
Star Fox Adventures Krystal Mod Experiments
Nightcast, a member of the Krystal Archive Discord server, has been slowly working on a mod for Star Fox Adventures to get Krystal playable, the Holy Grail of Star Fox mods for a long time! He's managed to put Krystal in several places she wasn't supposed to be, with backpack and staff, which is more than what the previous ActionReplay codes could do.
He's still blocked by some complexities related to how the files are stored and manipulated in the game data. Something about being able to put the Krystal information in the right place in such a way that nothing crashes. But rest assured, as soon as he can get it working, we'll do a deep dive of it.
On that note, if there's anyone out there with experience deconstructing games or reverse engineering data formats, Nightcast would love some assistance. Comment below or email me if you want to help out.
Krystal Car Hood Decal by SikDrift
SikDrift created a custom Krystal decal for his racing car back in March! This is "itasha", a car decorated with images of fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games.
He actually raced using the custom hood, and later showed it off at the Car-Nvl showcase. The hood, which appears to be carbon fiber, now hangs proudly on his wall when not at races or car shows.
He posted the original sketch on Twitter, and you can see the final version of the fanart on DeviantArt.

Adventures Fandub Cutscene in Saurian
Two fan voice actors perform the scales confrontation scene from the beginning of Star Fox Adventures, with KestinTheVoice as General Scales and AegisHikaru as Krystal. I think they did a great job, especially where they fixed one of the errors in the original Saurian.
