Nintendo @ E3 2017

It's that time of year again, Nintendo fans! Nintendo will be doing its E3 presentation and livestreams in just 14 days! Nintendo has announced the time of their initial presentation: June 13th at 9AM pacific (12PM eastern). We already know from Nintendo's announcements that the new Super Mario Odyssey, a sandbox 3D Mario game, will be the main focus. There will also be international competitions for both Splatoon 2 and ARMS. Of course, after the initial presentation, there will be dozens of hours of streaming coverage of all games announced or playable throughout the rest of the week.
What about rumors?
- I think it's pretty much given that Nintendo will officially release the awaited Summer DLC for Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
- The long-anticipated Smash 4 port for Nintendo Switch is rumored to be announced at the show.
- The worst-kept secret game in Nintendo's recent memory, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, might also see a reveal this year.
- The third version of the current-gen Pokémon game (to go with Pokémon Sun and Moon) has been rumored to be a Switch version since before the Switch was released. Perhaps we will see that.
- Retro Studios has been quiet. They have been working on something, but what? Some rumors say it's a new Metroid. Others say it's a brand new IP. Maybe it's both?
- Whether it's Retro Studios or not, many fans are chomping at the bit for a new Metroid staring Samus Aran. Nintendo will probably say something about the series.
- What about Star Fox? Well, I think 2018 is realistically the earliest we could see anything, but who knows? Perhaps Nintendo will use what they learned with Star Fox Zero to quickly turn around a new game (or a port it with a very different control scheme). Consider that Majora's Mask was built in only one year.
As always, I plan to be on chat with you guys the entire week as we watch the coverage of not just Nintendo, but the whole of the gaming industry. The one wrinkle is that I will be on a business trip during E3 week, so I might not be able to spend all that much time in chat. I should still be able to see the Nintendo presentation live, however.
Streams and information will be found on Nintendo's E3 page leading up to and during the event. I will make announcements about chat later. For now, I've added an event listing to the top of the navigation bar on the left.
I’m Back!

Did you miss me?
Sorry for the extended delay, Krystal fans! Real-life had me jumping through a lot of hoops. I'm mostly caught up now. Though I still have another few trips coming up, I don't anticipate them getting in the way of me bringing you regular content for the foreseeable future.
Since I've been gone, a couple of things happened, which I will cover here later. I also saw that there has been some lively chat in the comments. Thanks for keeping it civil. In real life, I had a great time at EverfreeNW! I cosplayed all three days and many people loved my costume. I also managed to find time to finish The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (all shrines, all memories, all armors + all upgrades, final boss beat with no death). What have you guys been up to?
Tysonanthro’s Krystal Papercraft
Tysonanthro (aka Ryan Valdes, aka Rysonanthrodog) uploaded a video of his Krystal papercraft in 2016. Based on the Super Smash Bros trophy, he converted the mesh to pepakura format and upscaled the textures to 2K. It stands 60cm tall. There is a photo of the papercraft in his gallery, where he also has posted the PDO file for download. If you want to make this papercraft yourself, just download the PDO file and follow some papercraft tutorials.
A while back, we featured a life-size Krystal papercraft by PriamWolf. It seems there are a lot more people who have done Krystal papercraft now. Over the next couple days, I will feature the rest of them that I found. Some of them are also available for download!
My Recent Disappearance
Hello friends. Quick update on why I've been away. I've been working frenziedly on a cosplay project for Everfree NW, the Seattle brony convention this weekend. I finished the cosplay, so that huge time sink is now over. I will be able to resume posting regularly after this weekend.
For those of you attending Everfree NW this weekend, I don't want to give it away, but I will be wearing a full-body cosplay that is NOT a fursuit, and it involves a 3D printed mask. If you're around, come say 'hi!'
Thanks to all of you for your patience. I have much to post.
UNIQLO T-Shirt Contest Has One Star Fox Winner
You may remember UNIQLO's T-Shirt Contest from a year ago where they asked fans to submit Nintendo designs for a line of T-Shirts that would later be produced. They got over 16,000 submissions, a record for them! Now all of their t-shirt winners are featured on their website. They will become available for purchase on the 18th of May.
A Krystal-related shirt was a long shot from the beginning. We knew that. However, one Star Fox entry was selected to become a t-shirt. It shows two dogfights: one between Fox and Wolf, and the other between Slippy and Pigma. It's got a rather unusual semi-realistic style combined with a very limited color palette. It was designed by David Ricardo and Flores Gomez of Mexico. Unfortunately, this shirt design is only being produced in "Kids" sizes.
I like most of the shirt designs, especially the Kirby one (which is unfortunately only available in Kids sizes). What about you? Are you going to pick up any of these shirts?

Zero Suit Photos from Furry Fiesta

Vulpine Media has sent me 20 more photos, including photos of Ayano sporting her new Zero Suit like Samus's suit from Metroid.
While we were shooting photos and video on Saturday and Sunday, a gentleman who goes by Cerivano hung out with us and took some photos of Ayano. He sent me all 38 photos he shot and I have uploaded them as well. You can see even more photos of Ayano's Zero Suit Samus costume among his photos.
Check out the Furry Fiesta 2017 album on Flickr to see all the photos. As always, these photos have also been added to the Krystal Cosplay group.
Enjoy!
Nicki Tens Building a 3D Printed Krystal Cosplay

Nicki Tens is a fursuit and kigurumi cosplayer. Notably, she focuses on kigurumi furry characters, which is pretty rare in the world of cosplay (Ayano being another). She's played many characters over the years, but she is probably best known for her Bridget cosplay. Starting this summer, Nicki is learning mask-making with the hopes of being able to produce her own cosplay masks. Her first project: Krystal. If successful, this will be the first 3D printed Krystal cosplay.
She's currently experimenting with a 3D printer and will be posting regular updates to her Twitter feed. Check it out and follow her progress!
First Furry Fiesta 2017 Image Set Released

I've just uploaded the first 64 Furry Fiesta 2017 images from Vulpine Media to Flickr. Check out all the photos in the album at glorious full resolution! There are some pretty cool shots in there already. All these images have been added to the Krystal Cosplay Group as well.
Vulpine Media took over 1700 photos. That's a lot to organize and edit. I will update the flickr album with new photos as he sends them to me. Thanks again to Vulpine Media for taking photos at the convention and allowing us to post these. Keep up the good work!
Hectic New “Star Fox: Event Horizon” Video
A few days ago, UndyingNephalim posted another video showing off some new locations for Star Fox: Event Horizon. No word on when the next demo will come out, but for now, enjoy the absolutely insanely hectic footage of Planet Kew (from the Kursed ending of Star Fox Command), the Aparoid Homeworld (Assault), and Sector Omega Ω (from Star Fox Zero).
Thanks to Mr. Brownstone for the heads up.
Switch + 3DS Nintendo Direct Tomorrow & Chatroom

Nintendo announced a new Nintendo Direct tomorrow afternoon at 3PM Pacific (6PM Eastern). The main focus will be Splatoon 2 and ARMS, but there will apparently be some 3DS info as well. You can watch the stream at Nintendo.com or Twitch.tv.
As usual, I have prepared a stream-watching chatroom. Just go to the chatroom page, choose a nickname, and use the password 'vixen' to enter. I'm online now if you want to chat today.
