Unused Dinosaur Planet Krystal Cutscene in Star Fox Adventures
Thanks to some hacking, the amazing BvqR zxi5 has found a cutscene from the original Dinosaur Planet that can be activated inside Star Fox Adventures. It uses the Adventures models, but the animations of the characters and camera are clearly from Dinosaur Planet. In fact, here's the exact cutscene from that game!
The Action Replay code for this cutscene is in the video description.
Super Smash Flash 2 Krystal Beta Footage and Analysis
Linklight was given access to the yet unreleased beta of Super Smash Flash 2, featuring a playable Krystal. He does a complete rundown of her movesets and how it feels to play as Krystal. Then, the video below just shows off high resolution footage with no commentary. Krystal's sprite work and animation looks amazing! Krystal plays very fast with some unique moves not seen in any other character. They even used original voice acting from Assault and Adventures. The team at McLeodGaming have done a fantastic job with Krystal!
Pavlova and Skitty’s Brawl Krystal Mod
Going back through the history books to make sure we cover EVERY, SINGLE, Krystal thing we can. Here's just one of several Krystal mods for Brawl, probably one of the better ones. This one is Krystal over Zero Suit Samus. This one was originally published August 22nd, 2013.
Read more and download the mod at The Brawl Vault.
Krystal Plush For Custom Order
Ayano found this one a couple days ago. SincereMasterpieces on Etsy makes made-to-order Krystal plushes. These are 12 inches tall and have wire supports to keep her standing. The head can turn as well.
The listing is a little confusing, but it looks like she's willing to make Krystal plushes like this one even though the listing says "Sold Out". If you're interested, contact her about it on the Etsy Krystal Plush Listing.
Krystal Warps to Boss Drakor
BvqR zxi5 does a lot of research into tool assisted runs and game hacking. He does work with Star Fox Adventures among other games, so he's discovered a ton of new techniques and interesting scenarios. In this video, we see Krystal replacing Fox in the intro cutscene of Boss Drakor. The video description contains the codes used to make this happen.
If you're interested in all the other codes BvqR zxi5 has discovered, you can see his page about AR Codes for Star Fox Adventures and also check out the page about version differences.
Krystal Second Life Custom Mod
ReiTuki likes to create custom mods for Second Life by patching together existing mods with a little custom work here and there. In this Krystal mod, the head was made custom, and combined with existing body and face mods to create one of the nicest Second Life Krystal mods I've ever seen, albeit a stylistic interpretation of her various facial features and body shape. Interesting staff and clothing too.
It certainly helps that ReiTuki is very good at taking photos of these creations. Have a look at ReiTuki's Flickr Gallery for more examples.
Super Mario 64 Mod for Krystal and Other Star Fox Characters
RetartedMimikyu64 posted a video on YouTube showing off his Star Fox character mods for Super Mario 64. You can play as Fox, Falco, Wolf, and even Krystal. The Krystal model is using our very own Krystal 64 Rig. Downloads for the mods are in the video description.
Thanks to CommanderD for the heads up.
Wahoo Mario vs HiYaa Fox Fight!
I don't know how I missed it, but TerminalMontage has released another amazing animation featuring our favorite version of Fox McCloud: Melee, No Items. And hey, a certain special someone shows up too. :)
Star Fox and Other SNES Titles Added to Nintendo Switch Online Tomorrow
Surprisingly, we actually did get some Star Fox news in today's Nintendo Direct. The original SNES Star Fox is coming to the Nintendo Online service, free with paid membership, on Thursday, September 5th, 2019. A new exclusive is Stunt Race FX, which has never released outside its original SNES launch. They promised more games in the future, so seeing Star Fox 2 show up here eventually is probable, given that they released it for the SNES Mini.
In Smash news, Sakurai announced to our surprise that he would continue making more DLC fighters even after the 5th Fighter Pass character is released. From the sound of it, the team intends to focus on non-Nintendo series when picking newcomers, but hope always remains. Nintendo (and Sakurai) can do whatever they wish, and if fans want Krystal, we might just get her! The ride never ends, the hope never dies!
Nintendo Direct Today
It's that time again, folks. Time to see what's next from Nintendo. I don't expect any Star Fox news, except maybe an announcement that the Star Fox DLC for Starlink will be made free to download, now that Starlink's development is officially shut down (sad face). Other than that, they will probably announce the launch date for the Banjo Kazooie DLC in Smash and one or two other surprises. There are plenty of speculations and rumors, if you're into that sort of thing.
You can watch the presentation above or on Twitch. We will be watching closely. Just a couple hours to go.
