Cosplayer and cosplay photographer, Ty_asselin on Instagram (HalfLightPhotography), recently completed a Fox McCloud cosplay at the C4 Central Canada Comic Con in October 2017. His costume included a game-accurate version of Krystal's staff made from cut, shaped, and carved foam. I am particularly impressed with the care with which he matched the pattern on the shaft. There aren't really any photos of him in costume with the staff that I have seen, but he said he's going to try and do some more photos with the Fox McCloud costume soon. Maybe we'll see more. In the meantime, you can look at some work-in-progress shots and a few photos of the completed staff.

A gentleman who I will call "demolition2013" from Irkutsk, Russia sent me a couple photos of his arm tattoo from 2016 that imitates Krystal's thigh tattoo. It's actually a really nice and compact rendition, with a tighter spiral, thicker lines, and closer arrows, when compared to a more game-accurate tattoo. I don't normally like tattoos, but if I were going to get one, it would be one like this: simple, abstract, and plausible deniability if someone asks you what it means. ;)

Compared to this Krystal back tattoo that subcomfeppo had done, or the Krazoa head chest tattoo by leonsdrago619 over at Starfox-Online.net, demolition2013's tattoo is much more subtle and nice in my opinion.

ChickyBoy37 (Craig Beverlin) has been working on a Krystal puppet from scratch for a while now. He sent in some photos from the creation process, and a video "interview" with Krystal using voice clips from Alésia Glidewell. Check out the photos below to see the work in progress steps used to create the puppet.

Unlike the English Version, Fox shows actual outrage in the Japanese version of the Sauria Briefing cutscene. Seriously, it looks like he is about to rip somebody's throat out. Also, Krystal gets all offended. It's super cute! According to Peppy, "Aparoid Hatchers" are called "Aparoid Factories" in Japanese.

And here we have the mixture of Japanese footage with English voice acting and text. The lipsyncing is pretty good here. Actually, it's better than good in some places. It's almost like they did lipsyncing to the existing footage, then the developers changed to a different system in post-production.

The Aparoids have attacked the dinosaurs of Sauria. Fox and Krystal head to the surface for their first couples' adventure on the planet where they first met.

Once again, this is the 4K (5K) English version of this scene from Star Fox Assault. I cannot WAIT to show you guys the Japanese/Mix version of this scene. So much more emotion and pretty good lipsyncing.

Several months ago, I posted about the_real_seal's Human Krystal Cosplay at WonderCon and Anime Expo 2017. She agreed to let me post full resolution photos of her cosplay to the Krystal Cosplay Group, provided I wait a while. Gensou Ichida, aka kokorogensou, has uploaded a video essay about Dinosaur Planet, its history, the rising interest, and the potential for a fan or official remake. The essay is made up of two parts. In part one, Gensou goes over the history of development for the game. She covers the initial creations, and public appearances of the game, as well as the transition to Star Fox Adventures. Also covered is the extensive set of assets that have been gleaned from early copies of Star Fox Adventures.

Part two goes into more depth about the needs and challenges of a remake. This includes copyright issues, art asset creation, and programming. It includes more details about hidden story elements found within the source code that could be used to direct the story of the potential remake.

With over a decade of exploration and research into Dinosaur Planet, Gensou is one of the best sources of information on the long lost game. Though this essay doesn't cover everything, it is pretty effective at summing up the whole situation with Dinosaur Planet and the realistic problems a fan or official remake would have to overcome.

SchattenKitsune666 already released his updated MMD rig, but never got a chance to make a video demo, until a couple days ago. Here it is! It shows off Krystal's unbanded tail, ear physics, head jewelry, and a bunch of small fixes. Krystal sings and dances along to I Love You, My One and Only by Remix 8 (Japanese) from the game Rhythm Heaven Fever. I really like the way the animation works with this model. I think the next thing that could really improve her from here is to animate more of the mouth and hair. Right now, her mouth just opens and closes, without effecting the lips and cheeks. Meanwhile, the hair doesn't have the same expressiveness that the ears and tail now have. I hope to see even more improvements in the future.
