Star Fox Zero is Ready
The Nintendo Direct just kicked off with Star Fox. Here's what we learned:
- Fortuna revealed. Katt is in it, and it is full of bioweapons.
- Lots of branching paths. The Teleporters are part of it. Teleporters appear to allow branching paths into completely different levels in some cases.
- Area 3 revealed.
- Some alternate paths are only available after beating the game the first time.
- Target Mode control system (unknown how it works).
- Two player mode. One flies, one aims and shoots.
- Fox Amiibo lets you use classic Arwing from SNES.
- Project Guard is now Star Fox Guard: minigame in Star Fox Zero. You help a Grippy Toad (Slippy's relative) stop a robot invasion on a base. Comes as a packaged set. Buying them separately digitally is possible for a lower individual price.
- April 22nd release date reconfirmed.
Also, the official Star Fox Zero site has been updated. New data there:
- Star Fox Zero can be purchased by itself from the Nintendo eShop for $49.99, while the packaged version comes with the Star Fox Guard game at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
- Star Fox Guard is included in the retail version of Star Fox Zero. A standalone digital version of the game can also be purchased through the Nintendo eShop for $14.99. Customers that purchase the digital version of either Star Fox Zero or Star Fox Guard will receive an automatic $4.99 Nintendo eShop discount toward the purchase of the other game.
- Lots of data and images for Star Fox Guard.
Also shown off in the Nintendo Direct:
- New Paper Mario Color Splash
- My Nintendo mentioned
- Pokken Tournament discussed
- And lots more!
March Nintendo Direct on Thursday!
Nintendo just announced a surprise Nintendo Direct for tomorrow, March 3rd at 2 PM PST. There are reliable rumors saying that Star Fox Zero will feature prominently in the presentation. Other rumors indicate that Star Fox Zero might be delayed again, or possibly held back to release on the Nintendo NX. I think both might be a possibility, given that leak. If they are discussing something called "Star Fox Zero First Print Edition", I wonder if that means they'll release Star Fox Zero both on the Wii U and Nintendo NX, in a similar fashion to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Either way, I want to watch this Nintendo Direct with you guys, as always. Let's do a chatroom watch party!

Two Fox McCloud Statues Arrived
My Fox McCloud statues arrived last week. That's right, I bought 2 of them! The one that I opened is either number 793 or 193 (I can't tell exactly) of 5000. Anyway, I thought I'd do a simple unboxing, featuring my Fox and Falco Amiibos. View the full post to see.

First4Figures Arwing Available for Preorder
First4Figures just put an Arwing statue up for pre-order on their website. The model is based on the Star Fox 64 3D Arwing mesh. The statue is HUGE, with a wingspan of 18 inches and a length of 12 inches. There are two variations. The first is the standard Arwing retailing for $280. The second is the Arwing Exclusive, which features an LED lit engine for a whopping $300.
Though I'd love to have one of these lovely statue for my collection, with the high price and my access to a 3D printer, I just can't justify a purchase. After all, I could make one twice that size for a fraction of the cost with enough patience.
However, there was one bit in the description that was highly interesting:
Dare we dream of a First4Figures Krystal statue? I would purchase one of those in a heartbeat!
FoxType1973 Needs Your Support
Ayano and FoxType1973 at Further Confusion 2013
Hey friends, I've got a personal request for you all. On the last podcast, I mentioned my friend FoxType1973 needing some friends and encouragement as he goes through a lot of treatments and chemotherapy. For those that don't remember, FoxType1973 helped us get some video and photos of Ayano back when she first appeared on the convention scene. He's a big fan of hers. He was also co-host of Krystal Archive Podcast #26.
Anyway, he's been feeling really down lately, not just from the treatments and surgeries, but because his condition prevents him from traveling. Up until recently, he had been attending Further Confusion almost every year, and he was very upset that he wasn't able to attend this year.
And so, I ask each of you as Krystal fans, gamers, furries, friends; please lend him your support. He created a Twitter account (@Volpfoxtoon) where you can follow his progress and send him a message every now and then. Or, if you want to get more in-depth, he loves to chat about Krystal and Star Fox, video editing and camera technology, Disney stuff, classic movies, and a few other things. Just send him an email and introduce yourself. Every little bit helps him keep a positive attitude during his treatment.
Thank you all very much.
Ayano at Wonder Festival 2016
I was correct last night after all! Ayano attended Japan's Wonder Festival today and got a bunch of shots of her Command suit with the Assault gatling gun. You can clearly see in several of these photos that it's not just a flight suit here, but she's actually wearing the full Krystal furred suit under it, as indicated by the ability to see her thigh tattoos imprinted on the outside of the stretchy fabric. Great attention to detail.
These photos are all from Ayano's twitter account, with many photos retweeted from other attendees, including: rinri1310, TwilightBloody, and lu_pha.
Ayano Completes Command Suit
As of yesterday, Ayano has posted the first photos of her Star Fox Command suit! It's certainly a very different look from the deep blues of the Assault suit. If I'm reading the tweet correctly, she will be showing it off publicly for the first time tomorrow (February 7th) at Japan's Wonder Festival 2016. Look forward to some new photos from that event with the gatling gun!
