Just a quick update.

We had our celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Star Fox Adventures on the 23rd, and I am just blown away at all the different things people have done. Estelle Ellis, in particular, seems to be lending her voice to a ton of Krystal projects. Far more than I expected.

I have a complete list of stuff to post, and I promise I will get to them. I'm just sorry I couldn't post everything by the 23rd. Work and travel prevented me. But I have at least 9 more #StarFoxAdventures20th posts to do, plus other Krystal and Star Fox related things all from the last two weeks. Please be patient.

Lastly, I got a concerning email from someone about people being emailed something about bitcoin or cryptocurrency from an address that looks like the Krystal Archive. I want to assure you that the Krystal Archive does not and has never done anything with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency (not counting this year's April Fool's Joke). We also never do ads, nor do we have any financial operations or schemes. We don't even have any contests going on right now. So please be aware and use your head if you received anything like this. If it's not Krystla or Star Fox related, it's probably not from the Krystal Archive.

The news just keeps coming today! We Esphirian's Star Fox fangame development in the past. Now, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Fox Adventures, he released a short film covering the events of what Krystal was doing just before the opening scene of the original game. It's a brutal and violent take on just how bad the SharpClaws were, and what the CloudRunners were willing to do to stop it. We also get to see flashbacks of Krystal's past and her relationship with her father. Very interesting and epic stuff. Fully voice acted with multiple characters, and Estelle Ellis also reprises her role as Krystal here. Amazing!

The brainchild of Gagnetar. The Krystal viral sensation of 2022. The return of Estelle Ellis to video games. It's here! The Half Life 2 Krystal Alyx Mod Version 3!

It features all of Alyx's lines rerecorded by Estelle Ellis, reprising her role as Krystal. That's 3265 painstakingly recorded lines. As you saw in some of the trailers, the dialog itself was adjusted slightly for Krystal's inclusion in the story. That's certainly the headline of the mod, but there's a bunch more to it than that:

• Four different, fully functional weapons from Krystal's armory
  • Blaster
  • Sniper Rifle
  • Gatling Gun
  • Krystal's Magic Staff
• Both the 2018 and 2020 version of WarfareMachine's Krystal rig (a huge fan request fulfilled)
• The WarfareMachine 2020 version has outfits for Assault, Adventures, and four different Alyx-style outfit combinations:
  • Star Fox Shirt
  • Black Mesa Shirt
  • Alyx Hair
  • Krystal-standard Hair
• The 2018 version of the rig has two new outfits:
  • Mercenary
  • Casual
• Some additional lighting and texture fixes in the 2018 rig
• Replacements for the Episode 2 G-Man scene
• Fixed Krystal teleport issue in Episode 1 Intro
• And a special Star Fox themed surprise you won't be able to miss once you encounter it

So with all the different rig and clothing variations, you will have a grand total of 120 possible looks for Krystal. That's 48 combinations of the 2018 rig and 72 combos for the 2020 rig!

This version of the mod is a lot bigger than Version 2: now at a staggering 5GB. We've managed to compress it down to a 7zip file that's only 607MB.

Rose was nice enough to make these sweet Krystal Box Artworks for each of the games. Very professional. The uncompressed versions of these posters are available in the mod download.

Summerset Banjo created a huge 11 minute long video love letter to the game Star Fox Adventures. Using music from EFX Vegas Musical, many scenes from Star Fox Adventures are showcased, including some that were the result of research into enabling content that never made it into the final game. As a show of appreciation to the creators, this video also contains the credits to the actual game itself. Unfortunately, the video can't be embedded here because of copyright issues, but you can watch it on YouTube.

Gh0stTrick has been a prolific collector of fan Krystal creations for a while now. What better time than the 20th anniversary of Star Fox Adventures to show off his huge collection! He sent me tons of photos of his 3D prints, figures, statues, dice, buttons, pins, stickers, prints, oil paintings, keychains, charms, plushies, t-shirts, acrylic stands, cups, coasters, bead art, sketches, art prints, wall scrolls, and probably other stuff I couldn't identify. He says he has at least 52 Krystal items on his desk alone, and he has even more stuff which he doesn't picture here. All 100% unofficial Krystal merchandise.

You win, sir. You definitely have the best Krystal collection of all time.

In celebration for the 20th Anniversary of Star Fox Adventures, VGSymphony released this calming rendition of Thorntail Hollow (Night) with a nice animated picture to go with it.

HuutisStudio and his friends are long time Star Fox fans and readers of the site. They played a lot of Star Fox Assault multiplayer together, and some of them share birthday months with Star Fox Adventures. They will be doing a 3 Day Stream of Star Fox in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Star Fox Adventures, starting the 22nd, just a few hours from now. They might also do some other Star Fox game stuff on stream. The commentary and players will be speaking in English, but they may break into their native Finnish from time to time. Star Fox fans from all over the world!

The stream begins on September 22nd at 10:30AM Eastern (7:30AM Pacific). Go say hi in chat!

These are a little old, but I wanted to mention them since I hadn't already. First up, the above video is the August update from Gagnetar about the Half Life 2 Alyx Krystal Mod V3. According to the video, he had all of Alyx's lines replaced by Estelle Ellis already, but there was still much to be done, including testing of the mod looking for mistakes and oversights. In the video, Gagnetar talks about still wanting to have the mod ready to go for the 20th anniversary of Star Fox Adventures (which would be the 23rd), so we'll see if they make it.

Secondly, Estelle Ellis posted this video on her Twitter account a couple weeks earlier, in July. It shows another sequence from the mod where Krystal talks to Gordon a lot. As always, the voice acting is a treat.

You probably noticed the distinct lack of updates during the depths of the summer. Lots of real life stuff going on, making updates pile up. I regret missing a lot of these, but I'm determined to make up for it. I've still got a ton of stuff to post, this included. So for a while, there might be more than one post a day, with some of the updates for slightly older stuff. I'm nothing if not a completionist. I ask for your continued patience as I try to make the site live up to its name of being the Krystal Archive.

The devs posted this video on Twitter. Krystal does a cute little hair flip now. To be honest with you, I don't remember what her idle animation used to be. Can someone tell me in the comments? I remember her taunt is to spin around her staff and say "Try me!"

RicardoTheFox has a tremendous Star Fox collection. Not necessarily in terms of size, but in quality. He has several extremely rare items, some of which even I hadn't heard of. Among the amazing items in his collection, we have:
