New Posts Delayed
Heads up! I have been working on some large-scale organization projects and some other stuff in the background. I need some time to get everything together. So until that's done, I will be reducing my posts, more-so than I already have been. I will still try and post if there are any really big stories, of course.
Sorry about that, but it will be necessary to continue posting consistently in the future, as well as allowing me to create larger projects. I hope you will enjoy what I have in store. Should be back to normal within a week or two.
Super Smash Flash 2 Krazoa Palace Music
In all the excitement in the release of Super Smash Flash 2 and Krystal's inclusion as a fighter, I totally forgot about the fact that it also featured a stage for Krystal, the Inside Krazoa Palace Battlefield. With it, comes a brand new remix of the Krazoa Palace themes. DemoGamerX created this extended version for your listening pleasure.
Bambookat’s Resculpted Krystal Coming Soon
Bambookat sent me some photos showing an update to his 3D printed figure. Because you asked, he's been working on a more fox-esque face for his model. Soon this version will be colored and ready for purchase on his Etsy page. Looking forward to the finished product!
Star Fox Assault Blaster by Nullpotower 3D Printed
Ken Singshow, who runs the Japan Pony Convention, is a furry artist, and is a local friend to Ayano Harumaki, started work last year on trying to recreate the Star Fox Assault blaster as a 3D printable prop. He purchased a high quality fan-made model, but it wasn't suitable for printing. I attempted to help find a solution, but I was only able to work on one part of it (the little black nozzle at the end of the barrel). Ken ultimately commissioned Nullpotower to essentially recreate the model based on that one's design, so that it would be 3D printable. And this is the result.
The prop was printed, glued together, and painted for Ayano Harumaki to do a quick photoshoot, which you can view on Twitter. Here's the original post made by Ken Singshow. We'll probably see more of this gun in future photoshoots.
3D Printed Krystal Figures by BambooKat For Sale
BambooKat has started producing 3D printed, 15cm tall (~6 inch) Krystal figures that are fully painted. He just got his business, AnthroFigurines, up and running. As you can see, it's a very tactical take on Krystal. You can order one for yourself right now for only $99, which is a very good price for this sort of figure.
I was able to speak to BambooKat, who told me several interesting things. First of all, in light of several people wanting a more foxy face for Krystal (as opposed to this more human-shaped one), he's very open to providing that option. Additionally, he's working on several very interesting Krystal-related projects, some of which will be revealed soon (and for sale as well). Keep an eye out for more from this creator.
Star Fox Adventures Retcon Fangame
The first trailer for a new fangame dropped last week. YouTube user Esphirian loved Star Fox Adventures as a child and now, 20 years later, he's work on making a spiritual remake of the game using the Unreal Engine. As you'll see, Krystal plays a much more major role in the game, tag-teaming with Fox McCloud in several scenes. Esphirian was inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and No Man's Sky to make a much more open-world game.
It's not yet known if he plans to release the game to the public, but Esphirian promises more videos this summer. Looking forward to it!
Krystal Commission by Amberluvsbugs
In February 2020, I spoke with Amberluvsbugs at HarmonyCon about her wanting to try to draw more types of characters. I offered to pay for a Krystal commission. She agreed, and she has just finished putting the final touches on it. We had a couple of back and forth communication, but she gravitated towards this dynamic pose very quickly. You can view her gallery post of the image, and download the full resolution version, like my other Krystal commissions. She also did a speedpaint video:
It looks like the video may be blocked from embedding. Don't know why, but you can easily watch it on YouTube.
Paper Star Fox 64
3D artist and animator JorgeMV has made an epic crossover: Star Fox 64 in Paper Mario style. This is extremely cool! JorgeMV spent a month and a half making this.
Krazoa Palace Remix by Metal Fortress
As mentioned previously, Metal Fortress has done a medley of Star Fox Adventures songs. This new song is just focused on the hypnotic sounds of the Krazoa Palace. You can also listen to it on Soundcloud. No official release as far as I can tell, though.
Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins Official Wallpapers Released
Nintendo released several new wallpapers, four of which are from Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins. This provides us with some very good looks at the Great Fox's animated bridge. There's a lot of detail there. I think I can even see an old GameCube in one of the boxes.
