Here's the Japanese version of the Star Fox Assault Fichina Briefing scene. As usual, the characters are more expressive, especially Fox. Here, he has a genuine look of surprise at one point, and in another, a silent laugh. Both are completely absent from the English version.

Now, let's combine the Japanese animation with the English voice acting and text. This time the lipsyncing mostly ok.

I also noticed that in the English version, Falco speaks some of ROB's lines.

This week's Star Fox Assault cutscene is the Fichina Briefing scene. Tracking Pigma, team Star Fox arrive at Fichina to find climate control generator completely non-functional and a massive blizzard beginning to grow out of control. Fox McCloud plans to head to the surface to reactivate the generator so their Arwings can fly normally. Krystal thinks IT'S A TRAP!

As with all of these, we have beautiful 4K (5K) visuals and improved audio The Japanese and mixed versions are coming tomorrow.

A couple weeks ago, SchattenKitsune666 made is Adventures Krystal MMD Rig available. Revisiting it recently, he realized that there were a lot of errors and issues. So he removed the old version and made a new, updated version available. Like the old version, this rig is based off the ripped Krystal Star Fox Adventures mesh from Models Resource. The download includes a tutorial for getting the fur rendering to work correctly.

New Features:

• Head gems physically modeled instead of using textures
• Improved facial rigging and weighting on the ears
• Alternate version with Krystal's tail unbanded

As mentioned previously, there's a bunch of new model rips coming out for various Star Fox games. Since the last post, there have been a LOT of dinosaur species and characters ripped from Star Fox Adventures, including CloudRunners, EarthWalkers, and various specific individuals like Gradabug. However, I think the most interesting rips to us Krystal fans are these three:

• Krystal's Floating Head - Model used when she gave Fox instructions to use her Staff and during the final cutscene via a hologram
• Krystal's Staff - Fully extended and opened.
• Krystal's Collapsed Staff - Collapsed into its smaller size, used when Fox puts it away into his backpack.

Isn't it interesting how they didn't just reuse Krystal's existing model, but make a new one when they just needed her head. Also, the collapsed Staff is almost identical in design to the extended one, except that the shaft is removed. I always assumed there would have been some of the brown-ish part still there when it was collapsed, but apparently, Krystal's Staff gets EXTREMELY small when Fox puts it away.

All three models were ripped by Models124717, who has done most of the model ripping for Star Fox Adventures and Assault.

AbbyStabby (Abby Davis) has completed both the Prologue and Chapter One of her Star Fox Adventures comic. So far, it's revealed a bit more about how Krystal came to be on Sauria and what she was doing up until the time Fox McCloud arrived. Chapter Two begins with Krystal and her CloudRunner ride crash landing at Krazoa Palace. I imagine this chapter will be very interesting to us Krystal fans!

SchattenKitsune666 has released a new Krystal MMD rig for public download. The rig was used in this Renamon and Krystal music video, and a similar rig was used for Falemirous' Half Life 2 Mod. The original rig by Warfaremachine is mature and can't be linked here, but this one was modified by SchattenKitsune666 to both remove the mature aspects and make it compatible with MikuMikuDance.

Once again, great work by SchattenKitsune666 in bringing so many different variations of Krystal to MMD!

CommanderD has been scouring the internet looking for Krystal sprites to turn into bead art in real life. He uses one colored bead per pixel on a special pegboard. After that, he heats them to melt them slightly together. After they have time to cool and flatten, they become what you see in these photos. CommanderD has some of these for sale, and can make more on commission if you have another sprite you want done.

In the past, two of CommanderD's Star Fox works were even featured in Nintendo's Miiverse Christmas Tree post.

Falemirous, the guy who's been really helping with the Miiverse Project, has made a really awesome Krystal mod for Half Life 2! The mod replaces Alyx, the secondary companion character, with Krystal. As a result, you will have the pleasure of Krystal guiding you through part of the game's tutorial, and you will see her in other places throughout the rest of the game. Though the rig is a bit unorthodox, it's hard to argue with the results. It features facial animation, a physically active tail, and various "jiggle bones" to make for a very dynamic character. The EMP tool is replaced by Krystal's Staff. Depending on which version you get, Krystal can either fire a blaster or a mini gatling gun. Both the guns and the Staff use sound effects from their respective games.

The mod is compatible with Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, and Synergy (a free multiplayer Half-Life 2 mod). You can download either the blaster or gatling gun versions from the new Falemirous Half Life 2 Alyx Mod page.

I have just finished downloading all the remaining posts and replies, as well as all associated resources, for every Krystal-related thing we could find on Miiverse, just hours before its final shutdown.

How much did we get? The final tally is a bit hard to explain. First, there were Krystal related posts. There were somewhere around 2470 of them, with the vast majority of those being images of some kind. Then, there were 96 Krystal-related reply pages we grabbed. Some of those Krystal-related replies were on non-Krystal posts, so the total post count is actually 2483. Combined with the reply pages, we grabbed a total of about 2580 pages! The combined resources, images, and html data clocks in at just under 400MB.

In the coming weeks I will be taking a closer look at the content I've downloaded. I'll clean it up, do some filtering, and create good listings for them. We'll also try to find all the Krystal-related replies that we didn't specifically mention above. To be sure, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Krystal-related replies in addition. Once that's all done, I will host what I have for all to see. We'll also have some special versions of everything, such as a gallery of purely Krystal artwork, without the context surrounding it.

I want to take a moment to express my most sincere gratitude to Falemirous. Without his efforts, we might not have gotten about half of the content we did. Please thank him for his help. Also, thanks to GoldenFox51 for sending us a huge bunch of last minute posts to go through. It is thanks to his efforts that we broke the 2500 page barrier.

This is pretty much it! The Miiverse is shutting its doors forever tomorrow evening. Backing up the Krystal posts on there has consumed my weekend, which is why I didn't post the last two days. I want to let you know that, as of this evening, we have downloaded over 2000 Krystal-related posts and replies!

I'm finishing up some testing related things, making sure my downloads are working and complete. Those of you who are still trying to send me Krystal posts, we're waiting on them (you know who you are). Sometime late afternoon, we will try to download the last remaining Krystal posts we are able to find, then it's lights out for the Miiverse.

Once I get a chance to check, cleanup, and organize the content, the Krystal Archive will be hosting a backup of all these posts. None of the links will work, but the pages, images, and replies will all look pretty much exactly the way they always did (plus some improvements).
