Star Fox Assault SFX Subtitle Project
One of the announcements of the presentation at Furry Fiesta 2015 was that I have managed to decode all of the sound effect data for Star Fox Assault in both the English and Japanese versions. I would like to subtitle them all so I can make a page where everyone can read and listen to the voice acting in the game. Unfortunately, there are 3290 audio files, far more than I can comfortably subtitle myself. That's where you come in.
I have uploaded the audio files and set up a spreadsheet on Google Docs that anyone can edit, even without a Google account. Just go to the spreadsheet, follow the instructions, and fill out data. Whether you can do a little subtitling, or a lot, anything helps! As a bonus, you can see the current status of the subtitling and all the files right now.
Furry Fiesta Followup

Furry Fiesta was essentially "Krystal Con" for me.
Except for the technical difficulties, the panel was a smashing success. About 15 to 20 people attended. Many laughs were had and the announcements have been greeted with much enthusiasm. Ayano was kind enough to come to the talk and posed for some photos with everyone, in spite of not really being able to understand what was being said during the talk.
I was able to meet two big Krystal fans for the first time:
- Stratosfear Tully (formerly Eggman9713) - the maintainer of the Krystal Lovers Association
- Tobias Amaranth - One of the first widely-known Krystal fans on the internet (he was vocal and had several important Krystal commissions)
I hung out with Brian from the UK. Together we formed a two-man paparazzi for Ayano, occasionally being joined by a third man, one of Ayano's friends from Japan. Between us, we have more than 2 hours of footage and many photographs of both the Assault and Adventures suits. More than a few furries were a little taken aback at our sole focus on the blue vixen fursuiter. We followed her literally everywhere, always keeping our cameras trained on her.
On that note, having seen it myself I can enthusiastically confirm that the Assault suit is fantastic! Not just good, but I would argue better than the Adventures suit by a substantial amount. What's more, the photographs don't do it justice. It actually looks even better in person. As always, Ayano acted the part fantastically through body language. Unfortunately for everyone, the gatling gun had to stay at home in Japan, for fear that it would be confiscated by American airport security. Ayano brought her staff instead, and on occasion, a small nerf gun.
Now the real work begins. I have to redo the presentation video and edit the tons of Ayano footage and photos. Then there's the new content I announced during the panel that must be prepped for posting. I'll try to do a little each day, so stay tuned.
Panel Panic
Somehow the livestream didn't record sound and we were not able to observe this fact until the panel was over. I'm so sorry guys!
Until I fully edit the video (which will use a different camera), I can't fix the audio on the livestream video. However, I can give you the audio that WOULD have played if the sound was working. Just download this audio clip and start playing it as soon as you hit play on the livestream.
The HD Krystal Videos
As promised, the HD Krystal Cutscenes and Fox-to-Krystal videos.
Krystal Archive Podcast #35 Live at Furry Fiesta
Streaming will begin Friday, February 20th at 6PM CST, as long as we can secure internet access.
3D Printed Krystal

marcuswilliams700 sent some photos of his 3D printed Krystal models, based on Gadonstriom's model. These are a few inches tall and printed using the Shapeways service. Just need to break out the model paint now!
As far as I know, this is the first 3D print of Krystal. Personally, I would like to try this when I purchase my 3D printer (likely sometime this year).
Star Fox Assault is 10 Years Old Today

Ten years ago today, Star Fox Assault was released for the GameCube in America (February 14, 2005). Ten days after that, it would be released in Japan (February 24, 2005). The rest of the world followed in April 2005. Released almost two and a half years after Star Fox Adventures, the game represented a return to earlier Star Fox game mechanics. Fox returned to his Arwing and Landmaster, with some levels being on foot. However, the game focused exclusively on shooting mechanics unlike Star Fox Adventure's action-RPG style exploration, item-collecting, and melee combat mechanics. The game would be Krystal's second outing in a Star Fox game.
Character-wise, Peppy retired officially from his Arwing piloting days to take on a more advisory role in his old age. Slippy retained his mechanical ability, and we got to see his predecessor, Beltino Toad, for the first time. Falco had rejoined the team as Fox's wingman as if his long absence prior to Star Fox Adventures had never happened. Krystal had joined the Star Fox team and shown herself a quick study when it came to piloting and modern combat tactics. Her expertise with extrasensory perception gave the team advanced warning of danger on multiple occasions. Finally, Star Fox Assault would mark the first time that Andross was not in a Star Fox game. The Aparoids, a hive-mind controlled species of bio-mechanical insects took the stage as the villain.
During this game, we saw Fox and Krystal's developing relationship, such as it was, with much romantic banter between them. This would later allow the strange relationship troubles discussed in the opening of Star Fox Command.
Graphically, Star Fox Assault, felt sharp and modern thanks to a distinct visual style that emphasized the futuristic nature of the vehicles and locations. In spite of this, the game was graphically inferior to Star Fox Adventures on many counts. Mechanically, the game played well, but was less polished than earlier Star Fox games. The audio, however, was quite good, some scores being done orchestrally. Star Fox Assault was a collaboration between Nintendo, who published the game, and Namco, who developed it.

Ayano Appears at Wonder Festival

Ayano sent me an email last night to confirm that Krystal will be in attendance at the panel at Furry Fiesta with her gatling gun. There was some question about whether the gun would be allowed through the airport security.
Included were some photos that I'm allowed to share with you. They show off a sneak-peak appearance at Wonder Festival 2015. This is the almost complete Star Fox Assault suit (the belt is missing). Check them out below.
KAP: Episode 34
Sorry the audio version took so long. Time and troubles conspired against me. Namely, the audio solution I use for editing podcasts (GarageBand) has removed the features I need to actually edit said podcasts. I will have to research new software packages. Any recommendations?
