In about an hour, Estelle Ellis will join UndyingNephalim for a livestream where they will show off the second Krystal-inspired plushie from Estelle, do question and answers, and just hang out. The new plushie, which features a brand new design, will be launching shortly on Makeship, like the last one.

The livestream starts in about 1 hour, at 4PM Eastern/1PM Pacific on May 10th, 2025.

Saturday, April 12th (tomorrow) at 11AM PST (2PM Eastern), UndyingNephalim (developer of Star Fox Event Horizon) and Estelle Ellis (voice actress of Krystal) will be doing a livestream discussing the ongoing development of Star Fox Event Horizon and all sorts of other unplanned topics as UndyingNephalim works on modeling the Armored Arwing from Star Fox 2. Come hang out and enjoy a fun chat.

UndyingNephalim (or IceCreamMan) has posted another video demoing a level of Star Fox Event Horizon, the eighth in the Saurian Campaign. This one radically shifts the scene and objectives throughout. First, it's a dogfight next to the volcano, then a rescue mission in the volcano, then a defense mission in the upper atmosphere, and finally a boss fight in space. The scale is immense!

In this morning's Nintendo Direct, a bunch of new games were shown off. No Star Fox games were shown, but we did finally see Nintendo bringing GameCube emulation to their Nintendo Online service.

The games announced so far:

While not the rumored Star Fox Adventures 2, we could easily see Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault released on the service.

Additionally, we learned that some games supporting multiplayer on the GameCube will now support online multiplayer, which could affect Star Fox Assault's VS Mode. All Krystal Battle Royale anyone?

Finally, these GameCube titles will play at higher resolution, perhaps even as high as 4K. This would be fantastic for graphically impressive games like Star Fox Adventures.

After posting the story about the Star Fox Adventures 2 rumor from DarkSamusHunter last night, I was contacted this morning by another leaker who goes by EarMustardHunks. He sent me materials proving that the original Nintendo 64 version of Dinosaur Planet is being worked on for an actual release. The plan is to use the original game bible and multiple versions of the in-progress game builds to reconstruct what would have been one of the most ambitious games for the Nintendo 64 had it ever released. A remaster, if you will, of the unreleased gem.

Supposedly, this project is part of Microsoft's ongoing attempts to have their games and IPs on every platform possible, including Nintendo's. As you know, Microsoft owns Rareware, and thus the IP rights for things in Dinosaur Planet not directly covered by Nintendo's Star Fox Adventures IP rights. Really, if Rareware and Microsoft were going to release Dinosaur Planet, they could only partner with Nintendo on this.

EarMustardHunks is pretty new to the Nintendo leaking game, but he provided material evidence that leaves me with no doubt he has real insight into this project. He shared some videos of a build running natively on the Nintendo Switch using official Nintendo developer portal tooling. There were sequences from the very late game that were not included in any build from the original Dinosaur Planet leak. Nintendo and Rareware are working on it together, planning for a release as part of the Nintendo Switch Online service, which will continue on the Switch 2.

As part of my agreement, I can't share any of these materials. Sorry, but I agreed to his terms before I realized what he had. Also, there's some identifying information in the videos that Nintendo could trace back to EarMustardHunks and his contacts. Understandable.

And before you ask, yes, Dinosaur Planet Krystal IS in this version of the game. She's in the game exactly how you'd expect, the same young girl adopted by Randorn. Not sure who they're going to get to do her voice, since they're going to need new voice clips for the newer portions being built.

Hoping to hear more about this officially in the next couple months. What I've seen has me very excited!

Sorry everybody. It would appear I was taken advantage of. EarMustardHunks is just an anagram of DarkSamusHunter. I was fooled with some elaborately faked videos made by AI. What a terrible day to be pranked!

Nintendo will be revealing a bunch of info on their next console, the Nintendo Switch 2, on April 2nd in a Nintendo Direct. I suspect we'll see a ton of games, the release date, and the price. Hopefully we'll see some really awesome games. I've heard rumors that a new 3D Mario game is set to be the system's main launch title. Also, there have been rumblings about a new Star Fox, but they are rumors at this point.

The Nintendo Direct will begin at 9AM Eastern (6AM Pacific) on April 2nd, and is an hour long. You can watch it here or on the livestream page. Hope you will all enjoy.

I just became aware of this rumor today. It's from around January, and seems to point to something Star Fox Adventures related. With the Switch 2 Direct coming up in a couple days, I'm wondering if this is something we'll see soon.

So DarkSamusHunter is a Nintendo leaker. I'm not super familiar with his past leaks, but apparently he is sometimes accurate. At least, accurate enough to pay attention to.

With this cryptic series of tweets, he seems to be strongly hinting about Star Fox Adventures.

• "Classic Zelda-like game" - Matches Star Fox Adventures.
• "Game from another series" - Not Zelda? Matches Star Fox Adventures. Or is this a niche reference to how Star Fox Adventures came from Dinosaur Planet?
• "A NEW game [not a remake]" - People have been hoping for an HD remake of Adventures for a long time, but this indicates it will be a new game. Sequel? Prequel?
• "After Zero" - Reference to Star Fox Zero? If so, he's saying it's strange that they would release the game after having "rebooted" the series with Star Fox Zero. Of course, if you know your history, you would know that Star Fox Zero is intended to be a parallel dimension version of the events of Star Fox 64, not a remake or retcon.
• "Resuming a formula from the most unique title in the series" - Matches Star Fox Adventures.

If he isn't talking about Star Fox Adventures, I have no idea what he may be referring to. I thought maybe it could be F-Zero related, but that doesn't match the Zelda-like comment at all.

So if this is indeed a Star Fox rumor, then it seems to be pointing strongly towards a direct sequel to Star Fox Adventures. Would this be a return to Sauria before Assault? Could it be a reimagining of Star Fox Adventures the same way Star Fox Zero reimagined Star Fox 64? Or could it be a brand new Adventure on Sauria set after Assault or Command? Could there be some kind of Dinosaur Planet connection? There are a lot of possibilities here.

Nintendo's directs are always fun, even if we don't see the games we hope for. I always remain hopeful we'll see something Star Fox related. It would be good to see Star Fox, F-Zero, maybe Golden Sun, and other game series that have been on pause for a while make an appearance. Hopefully there will be a little something for everyone in the Switch 2 Direct in a couple days.

For our final post of Krystal Cosplay Week, here's a new Krystal cosplayer I have never posted about before!

I was vaguely aware of Abigail (aka _the_cosmic_firefox2000_) because I would see her from time to time in image searches, but it took me a while to locate her social media profiles. She only cosplayed as Krystal for a short time in 2022, as far as I can tell, attending TerrifiCon 2022 and Anime NYC 2022 along with many of her many other cosplay characters. Other than that, she posted a lot of videos on TikTok. More on that at the bottom of the post.

I reached out to Abigail a while back, but so far have been unable to contact her to get more information, so below I piece together what I can from what I've found. Abigail, if you see this, please contact me and let's talk! I'd love to get more info and photos of your time as Krystal.

She did a Q&A video to address common questions:

• She was inspired to cosplay Krystal because Krystal is an underrated character, and that's the kind of character she usually cosplays.
• The only Star Fox game she has played is Star Fox Zero.
• Apparently, she made a fabric mask that had Krystal's nose and mouth on it, but I have yet to find a photo of it.
• She chose to do the hair as curly dreadlocks, which is how a Star Fox wiki article described Krystal's hair (not the word I would use, but fair enough).

The cosplay itself appears to be an Assault suit (unsure if hand-made or bought), modified with fabric-covered foam pads on the shoulders. She wears green cat contact lenses sometimes. The headpiece is a dreadlock like wig tinted slightly a dark blue/purple with a jeweled headband built into a forehead construction of light blue fabric to mimic Krystal's fur, which matches the fur of the ears. The tail and gloves also match the light blue coloration, with the tail fur being pretty fluffy. Lastly, she appears to have custom-made the belt and belt buckle. My guess is the belt is shiny fabric with carved and painted EVA foam for the buckle.

There aren't many photos of her that I can find. I found a few, but not enough to post yet. More research is needed. If you know of some more places Abigail was photographed in her Krystal cosplay, please contact me with the info!
